Ok, let me play the devils :fork: advocate.....we all come on these boards praising everything Disney. (Eisner excluded-wrong thread)...:D
Now, lets see if we can finagle some answers for this question.

BeachClub, please give it another chance. I have eaten there a few times and it has always been great. Now I should say, I have had steak or prime rib each time, so I cannot speak about the entire menu. But the food was really really good. I suspect you just had bad luck.

A few years ago, we ate at the Liberty Tavern. The food was not so great and my meal was just plain bad (it was badly overcooked). If that had been the first time I had ever eaten there, I would have never gone back. Fortunately, I had been to Liberty Tavern enough to know that the food is really good. In fact, we had lunch there later the same trip and it was great.

So try Canada one more time. If you do not like it, send the bill to me. I'll put it in the pile of other bills that I don't pay when I 'm
saving for another Disney trip.

I remember checking awhile ago and didn't find them, but was wondering if there was any place online with the menus from the restaurants in the parks. I'm coming there next month and am wanting to start planning where I will be eating. I assume Disney doesn't list their prices on an online menu, but perhaps the food? Yes? No? Maybe so?

I'm not going to add to this list as far as restaurants being worst et al. But i would suggest to everyone to give restaurants more than one chance.

The restaurant business is tough, to say the least. Now does that mean a bad experience is excusable? No, a bad experience is a bad experience. But in most cases its best to give a restaurant another shot. Try a different main course or appetizer. Go at a different time of year or day.

There are alot of things that go into a bad experience in general terms; maitre'd, wait staff, sommelier, decor, silverware/dinnerware, other guests, time, your mood prior to entering the restaurant, and lastly the food itself.

I've eaten at Pizzafari at AK 3 times and have been served cold crusty pizza or bread sticks.

I tend to stick to appetizers or desserts while in the parks. I think that the main dishes are too much money for such a small portion. The only exceptions that I personaly have come across is Norway, Germany and Mexico. They have proved to me to be good.

Well here are my top and worst picks:

MK:
Cinderella's Royal Table(CRT): The food here at CRT was OK.I mean it was not the best, but I ate it. Plus, lunch was cheaper than dinner.
Liberty Tree Dinner (LTD): The food here I have heard mixed things about, some say it is good while others say it is horrible. My self says that it was really nasty.I did not care for some of the things on the menu. Just check to see what they are serving before you eat!

EPCOT (EC):
The Mexico Pavillian: Dont remeber what the resturant inside is called but we had one good and one bad experience. Eat at the outside food place there, much better.
Norway Pavillion: I ate at the Princess Breakfast and it was pretty good. I had no complaints about it all . The dinner I did not have and am not sure.
Germany: EXCELLENT!!!!
Canada: Food ok but very over priced and you dont get much i left hungry and had to get a snack on the way out.
The Garden Grill in the Land: Look at LTD.

MGM:
Prime-Time: Great place for at the home atmosphere. Good food as well. I had the meatloaf and i must say it tasted like my moms. :sohappy:

Animal Kingdom (DAK):
Pizzafarri: OK food but very pricey again on what you get. Very popular place to eat right out side of camp minnie mickey.
Flaming Tree BBQ: I think thats what it is called its when you are going to Dino land. Very good BBQ there!

There are my two cents......

The worst meal I have ever experienced was at the Commissary at MGM. Cold and soggy is what I remember. SciFi is pretty mediocre but we still go back for the atmosphere.

I agree with some of you and not others and that could be caused by a number of things, like someone said the restuaraunt business is probably insane. But heres what we experienced:

Chef Mickeys.....major dissapointment...we read alot about this one and it didnt nothing for me or my wifes taste buds. The kids selections were typical of the other buffets but I guess this was okay because of the characters.

Chrystal Palace we really enjoyed...probably our favorite

Castle for breakfast...excellent...having 2 girls(8,7) they were in heaven and the meal was very good

Brown Derby....another winner....we had an awesome steak...we are huge meat eaters...and my wife had some sort of frozen drink that she loved...would do it again but only at lunch...we had a 2 minute wait and the service was excellent.

Overall we have never had a "terrible" experience at any place we eat at Disney. The greatest thing for us and having kids are the buffett style places....let them eat what they want as long as they eat something...and there was always plenty of fresh fruit which our younger girl loves.

Menus are listed on another chat site. Is it ok for me to post it? If not, just remove this. Disney Menus

Also, forgot about another bad meal experience. We were at Breakfastosaurus (which was an annual event until last year). I looked down at my feet about half way through breakfast and saw the biggest roach I'd ever seen. I have heard there are big roaches in Florida, but this thing had to be an inch wide and 1 1/2 inches long. I couldn't eat after that. But the food there has always been good n' plentiful.

I've had both excellent and mediocre meals at Le Cellier. I'll be going there this weekend, so I'll let you know. The same goes for Rainforest Cafe. My daughter got food poisioning there once...yugh.

The worst meal I've tasted was my daughter's vegetarian lunch at AKL's Mara restaurant. It was inedible!!! :hurl:

Our dinner at California Grill was mediocre, with terrible service. However, others rave about it, so I guess we hit it on a bad night. (It was not crowded, so that wasn't the reason.)

I know it would be nice to give a restaurant another try, but after dropping a good $100 (or more) for a so-so meal, many people are reluctant to risk it again.

Bad Meals

Let's see. Because one of my favorite things about going to WDW is eating and trying different restaurants I have been to a few. OK lets do this by park or resort.

Magic Kingdom
Need I say more. Every time we try to eat there it is not a good thing. We usually try to eat before we go. We have even gone so far as to take the Monorail to EPCOT eat and come back. Two of the OK places are the Hot Dogs at Casey's and the restaurant in the colonial section across from the Hall of Presidents. But it has been a long time since I have eaten at either.

EPCOT
Alfredo's is horrible. It's loud, expensive, and the food is just so so. Other than that the worst meal I have had there would probably be the special buffet set up for the New Year's Eve celebration for the Y2K. It was just too ethnic and it was hard to get a good fill up meal to hold you through the whole evening of celebrating.

Studios
Just about as bad as MK maybe worse, because I don't even know where to get good fast food.

Animal Kingdom
UM this one is hard because I haven't eaten there too many times I would do better just saying the good places I have eaten.

Contemporary Resort
Chef Mickey's Buffet. Another loud expensive so so place. The kicker here is that every so often they have a character celebration where they encourage you to swing your napkin in the air. Just use your imagination swinging napkins and toddlers.

Let's start a new post of our favorite places to eat. I hate to sound like all a can say is how bad things are. I like to look at the positive side of things more.

I agree with lebernadin in giving some places another shot. I have had both good and bad experiences at various restaurants in the parks and admit you dont know till it is too late. Overall the best places are within the World Showcase at Epcot and otherwise you get less than you pay for. The fast-food type places I would avoid as much as possible.

Personally, I'm having a problem with the phrase "too ethnic" at an ethnic restaurant in an ethnic pavilion in an ethnically-themed park. Maybe that's just me. I'm not defending Alfredo's in any way, but I have no love for chain restaurants like Olive Garden where people come to order fettuccini alfredo and call it Italian.

In any case, I have to agree with lebernadin in suggesting trying restaurants more than once, specifically La Cellier which was just rated one of the top restaurants in Florida. Unless you like well-done steak, which I take as a personal challenge when I'm cooking.

I spent nine days at DW from 12/12/03 to 12/20. After visting all the parks and eating at every one, I have to say this. The park food is just plain horrible. I had a hot dog at Magic Kingdom that left me in a quandry trying to decide which was worse. The price or the taste of the hot dog. I mean, it's a hot dog for Jevus's sake. How can you screw up a hot dog and then charge me an arm and a leg for it??? I go shopping at Costco and I've never had a bad hot dog there and it's dirt cheap. Disney should take a trip over there. I know it's park food, but it's Disney!! It's supposed to be the most awesomest place on the planet. Very disappointed. Luckily the choc covered Mickey pretzels more than made up for it.
