I'm no spring chicken myself so no offence, but do you think she thought you were the head of the family? :)

Or perhaps you looked so sharp and distinguished that she thought you were the family member with the most money? (Let's go with that)

I'm sat here laughing imagining you sitting there thinking "What the ...." :D
She could have thought I was the "head of the family" but she would also have to assume I wasn't very popular when no one was willing to sit with me and left me there by myself. Then expected me to pay as well. You could tell right there that they didn't know me at all. Anyway, it was more amusing then anything, but I can tell you this if you spend that long in that restaurant you have seen those circling films at least 20 times.

My wife and I used to do the Sci-fi once a year nearly always on our last night, followed by Fantasmic. We'd get a reservation 6 months in advance to make sure we got the right time slot to do both. About 3 years ago we stopped because as fun as it was, we'd seen the clips so many times that they no longer meant anything. The food tasted ok but just felt too expensive for what it was once the novelty of the atmosphere had worn off. We're actually planning on returning to the Sci-fi this October, mainly because we have 3 friends with us who've never tried it before and we're sure they'll like it. Perhaps not going for such a length of time will make it feel 'fresh' again to us, fingers crossed.

Your story has made me laugh far more than it was probably intended too, thanks for sharing it :D

Too expensive? You should see what it costs for 7 people, six of which you don't even know. Anyway, I did lighten it up a little bit, because I'm afraid that by the time that experience was over I had lost a lot of my cherub like demeanor. I had frustration coming out my ears. I was in there over two hours for a cheeseburger and fries. Besides the fact that I am a little thick around the middle and those 57 Chevy seats and tables allowed me very little room to breath. I'm surprised that the outline of the edge of the table isn't still showing across my abdomen.

The worst part of it is that I did feel sorry for the waitress. She screwed up in an epic manner and if I read it all correctly that was all it was. Not goofing off, just either overwhelmed or something. I never had anything like that happen there or anywhere else for that matter. From her body language I sensed that she really felt bad and puzzled herself about what had happened. At any rate, I was at WDW and I had no desire to be upset when it was over. I really felt that she was either new or something had shut down her ability to be efficient at that point. Hey, look at that I got my cherub like demeanor back again. 😇
