OK.....If you had control over the Rehab of the World Showcase at EPCOT, What would you do?

I would Replace the Canadian Pavalians Film with a new one, or maybe some sort of simulator. The China Pavilion film would be replaced with something simular to Soarin' over California, then Japan would get its mountain ride (unless a swiss pavilion was ever built).
But the most important part of the whole thing would to bring the whole showcase up to date. SOme of the pavilions are looking pretty bad. Trimming is falling off, cracks in the walk ways.
I would just make the whole thing look brand new.

That is just me How about anyone else?

If you're gunna dream DREAM BIG!

I think they should tear up the bridge that connects World Showcase with Future World and make World Showcase a separate gate. Then then'd be forced to spruce up and add attractions rather than hose off the garbage thats there now.

The UK needs to build that giant ferris wheel like the one they just completed on the real Thames river. Because shops selling scones and beer are BORING!

They need to build a soarin over Canada. (China would never allow the filming) Victoria Gardens isn't cutting it.

France needs a show based on the Moulin Rouge. Or a mini Louvre exhibit.(Loove? Louv?)

Morraco needs to cash in on the mummy trend. HEY, If they can copy the tram tour, they can copy this too)

Norway needs to add a Luge ride. (looge Luuj?)

China needs a clone of the Storm Chaser from Disney's Sea, and instead of being struck by lightening you hit an American spy Plane. (sounds exciting, huh?)

Japan needs an Anime' themed rollercoaster or a spiderman type clone. Or "Hello Kitty" land for the children. (anything but Pikachu!)

I would flatten the UK (just the Pavilion ;)) and rebuild it as something decent.

I would also build the country of Holland and make a nice 'bike' ride through stereotypical tulips and windmills. The ride could be a small one, for children, to get them more interested in World Showcase. Similar to the Steeplechase at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, where the 'horses' run on single-rail tracks. Only it would be bikes instead of horses, and it would be a lot smoother and less "I'm going to fall off"-like.

Feel free to shout at me for my completely foolish ideas. I can take it. :lookaroun

I was thinking the same thing, all of the countries they have there are great as is (maybe a little paint here or there). But I would just change the movies they are really out dated.

Showcase as a SHOWCASE

World Showcase is meant to be a showcase of cultures, cuisines, and sights from other countries, not the Magic Kingdom International Style. I like the way WS is, its peaceful, and exciting at the same time, and the architechture is beautiful. I love the overall feeling of the whole place. The only thing that I'd say needs to change is maybe some maintenance on some of the pavillions which I think is already in progress. When I was at Epcot last summer, one of Italy's buildings was covered with a tarp and it was wierd cuz you couldn't tell ulness you were up close, they painted the covering to look like the pavillion! How cool! And if I'm not mistaken, some part of China was rehabbed earlier this year, Steve posted a picture of it under EPCOT NEWS. Other than that, maybe update the films. Canada sounds like it needs it bad. World Showcase isn't meant to be clogged with a bunch of "rides", its serving its purpose just fine. (In my opinion at least)

Well said! I couldn't agree more! :)

Although the theming could lend it self to alot of cool attractions...WS is meant to be the way it is. Lets keep it that way! :D

Bear, it would make things a whole lot easier if you just accepted people and their opinions and the fact that you will most likely not change them. I say tomato you say tomaaato... we don't want any flame wars ya know? :) Sure civil debates but no flame wars. :D

Calling us 'old ladies' doesn't make things easier. ;)

Ughhh! I hate when this happens! :hammer: This forum is meant to be about Disney, and the discussion there of, not for insulting people just cuz they have a difference of opinion. Lets try to show a little maturity here. DisJosh, right on!

I'm sorry, I keep forgetting sarcaism is something that doesn't translate well to this electronic medium.

I don't ACTUALLY think you are old ladies.

I don't REALLY think we need a Chinese flight simulation of a crash with an AMERICAN spy plane. OR HELLO KITTY LAND geesh

But I do think you cry babies take these posts entirely too seriously.

IF everyone wants to play that way, why dont we add a Russian pavilion and have a submarine ride in it, and half way through the ride, the sub floods, and sinks to the bottom of the ocean. ANd to make it cost efficent, Disney Could reuse the subs from 20,000 leagues.

It's a thought. Then they can have a Norweigen Rescue Ship come an save you. and you disembark in a gift shop in the Norway pavillion.

I'm trying to lighten up...yet you go on insulting my self and others in this thread. I tried being nice and still you go on insulting.

How about you lighten up?

And yes we do take this board rather seriously in a sense...espescially when someone decides to go about insulting everyone because their opinions don't match his.

'nuff said... I'm done.

I have to agree....
With the exception of the movies, leave it alone!
I have been over 150 times to our beloved parks, and I STILL find new and interesting things each time I go...
The only thing I regret is that they no longer have the girl in Japan who makes anmals from candy....I LOVED to watch her show:(
And Josh is right...opinions should be kept to ourselves...we all have ideas, and they can all be great ones! Thats why there are so many Imagineers...the more there are, the more ideas and imagination there is:)
So break out with more ideas!

Thats an opinion. don't you think THAT should that be kept to yourself?

This whole board is Rumors an OPINIONS.

And like "ideas" they need to flow. If you can't take a little jesting then you really shouldn't post.
