World of Motion vs. Test Track

One thing people always seem to be discussing here is World of Motion vs. Test Track. I personally love Test Track, but am too young to remember World of Motion. So what's everyone who has riden (and remembers) both think?

I agree. I liked WoM, but compared to Horizons and Spaceship Earth, it wasn't nearly as good. We've still got Spaceship Earth, and Test Track is a really fun ride, despite some of the negative comments it gets. Test Track gets my vote.

WoM was done, and had to go. It wasn't the best dark ride there was, and it was pretty boring. Test Track is fast and exciting while still sticking to the transportation theme. TEST TRACK all the way!

This is a hard choice.

I really liked WOM but I really like Test Track, too. I chose Test Track since EPCOT needed something a bit more thrill oriented. And it has just enough thrill to be exciting but is calm enough that just about everyone will ride it.

The main problem I see with Test Track is that it trys to be educational (and actually is) but most people are so caught up in it being a thrill ride that I think they don't bother to pay attention to what they are supposed to be learning.

well...disney can't make people learn...but this is better than say...the old Universe of Energy (you know...back when it was a 40 minute Exxon commercial...)...with that, people wouldn't learn b/c they would fall asleep...at least with Test Track, you are guaranteed to have a fun time...it's one of my favorite e-rides...it gets my vote.

I did like World of Motion, but my vote goes to TEST TRACK!!! Before, there was Spaceship Earth, Horizons, and World of Motion. All three are good rides, but they are all slow. Now (or at least soon) there will be a slow ride (Spaceship Earth), a fast thrill ride (Test Track), and hopefully something out of this world (Mission: Space). Everything should even out.

World of Motion gets my vote. I loved that ride, I remember it, barely, but I do. I don't really care for Test Track, I wish Disney would stop trying to make rides for Teens, and stuff. I'm 17 and I like it the other way around. If I really wanted to go ride Roller Coasters, I would go to Cedar Point, or six Flags Great America. Oh well, just my random rambiling (sp?)

I like test track ..its fun ..but WOM was more then just a ride .. and more then just about transportation .. the street scene .. I just loved that ..you couldnt take it all in on just one trip through because there was so much going on.

I could just hug you!!! there arent many like you!!! I am tired of hearing how WDW should build this like IOA or Universal it shouldnt try to be like other theme parks ..its not suspose to be like other theme parks ..heck we got theme parks all over texas ..and they are all the same thing ..different names for the rides but its the same dang ride.

World of motion was fun, but kind of dull. I enjoyed Test Track, though it could have benn better, i think it's a definite inprovement over WOM.

doesn't necessarily matter if I or anyone else WANTS disney to build thrill rides. Disney has already desided that that's what they want to build for the time being...and they do an amazing job on them. Now...you have a park like Animal Kingdom which is kinda turning into a thrill park...Beastlie should have the major e-ride and hopefully some more family-oriented ones too...if for no other reason, to make Animal Kingdom a "full-day park"...they'd make more money on food if people had a reason to stay for the most expensive meal of the day (and if the park were OPEN past 5 pm...). Anyway, the construction of more thrill rides is all a function of the Imagineers and the execs--the execs know disney thrill rides are incredibly popular, and they are willing to allot much more money for these projects than others. So, naturally, Imagineers design them...If you are an Imagineer and here "$120,000,000" for one attraction, that's gotta be music to your ears! Theming galore!

It is a real shame when a high quality attraction is removed to make way for another high quality attraction. This was the case with WoM and TT.

I thought I was the only one who ever really liked WoM, good to see the others on this thread who enjoyed the ride. The scenary was very well done, it included many authentic period pieces.

The reason for the change can be observed every day. There was rarely a line for WoM, TT fast pass often sells out. Good as WoM was it didn't make people want to come to the park. It may have been an attraction to look forward to in combination with others, but TT makes the turnstiles click. Like it or not, TT is the main draw ride in Future World these days. As a sponsor, I'm sure GM is very pleased with the guest traffic generated by TT. More people checking out their products. Disney likes happy sponsors.

Much as I loved WoM, I give the nod to TT. Mainly due to the uniqueness of the ride.

My vote goes to World of Motion....just like CoP, it put us in the middle of eras gone by...a terrific educational tool.

Test Track is a marvel in design....Disney had their first string Imagineers working on this one...Not a detail was omitted....but I'm tired of the damn thing constantly breaking down or our ride being constantly interrupted with stoppages for one reason or another....
