Fireworks on Fridays and Saturdays only. Fantasmic! on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Parades on weekdays only.

I was going to same something similar and then thought that that would make the days with fireworks/ parades 3x as crazy. But at least there would be the option to go on a days without any of it.

Trying to walk through the hub at night during the 60th gave me anxiety. Having the parade be at DCA now has been great.

That was a nightmare. There was one night we were trapped in a sea of people between the hub and TL, right next to the Astro orbiter. This was when they were blocking traffic flow through the Matterhorn pass/ FL courtyard and Big Thunder Trail was still under construction. NIGHTMARE.

Are the hours of waiting for these things and the congestion and traffic flow issues they cause in the parks worth it? I say no. With that said, I realize they are a part of the Disneyland experience and kids love them.

Parades are usually around 4/5/6 during the day so those crowds tend not to conflict with firework crowds the way the firework crowds and Fantasmic do. Unless it's PTN in which case I hope you have a leash on your child.

Anyone who thinks The Black Cauldron is the worst Disney movie has not seen many Disney movies. It's not even the worst in the official animated canon.
It's definitely one of the weakest of all Disney's animated films. I saw it in a theater opening night, and people were walking out halfway through. My friend and I stuck with it, hoping for the best, but at the end my friend summed it up well: A lot of good ideas that don't add up to anything.

Boring heroes. Boring villain. Boring magic. Generic everything. Zero world-building. An irritating attempt at "comic relief" that would only be dethroned by Jar Jar Binks.

A few good moments and some nice animation. I personally prefer it to Robin Hood, The Aristocats and Chicken Little, but it really is a weak film--an example of a good idea ruined by too many cooks. A potential gourmet meal turned to unflavored oatmeal.

Haha. Yeah the day parades don’t wreak too much havoc. Since PTN has been at DCA I haven’t noticed any issues but can’t recall if I was in a scenario where there would have been in an issue in the first place. But yeah, the whole Disneyland Forever, PTN thing at DL was insane.

I saw it for the first time last year so it doesnt have any nostalgia for me in the slightest. It’s pretty much the worst Disney animated film of all time. If not, it’s in the Bottom 3. I felt like I was watching a storyboard. A bunch of plot points with nothing keeping the whole thing together.

I think Robin Hood is much better even though it’s in the bottom 3rd of Disney animated films for me.

I actually analyzed Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB, and MetaCritic scores to put together a Disney film March Madness bracket a few months ago. Scores were out of 100 though I admittedly cherry picked the 88 films I looked up and did not include pure live action flicks or the more recently acquired IPs.

The 5 worst scoring films were:

Brother Bear (55.67)
Pete's Dragon - the original (55.00)
Cars 2 (54.33)
Chicken Little (49.33)
Home on the Range (48.33)

Black Cauldron was the 8th worst film (58.75).

Oh, I should have mentioned I was only talking about official canon. So that eliminates Pete’s Dragon. Cars 2 is Pixar. I think Chicken Little is a way better movie than Black Cauldron and I think if you were able to turn off nostalgia, you’d probably see that too. I have not seen Brother Bear or Home on the Range.

In case you are wondering, the top 5 were:

WALL-E (90.50)
Toy Story (90.33)
Inside Out (89.83)
Toy Story 3 (89.67)
Beauty and the Beast (89.33)

Taking out those types of films adds Atlantis (56.83) and Black Cauldron (58.75) to that list.

Considering the vast wealth of characters and songs Disney has going back 90 years now, it's a shame that they don't dig a little deeper instead of relying on the greatest hits so often.
Sure Disney wasn't at it's best with their animated films during the 1960's and 1970's (The exception is The Jungle Book, 101 Dalamations and Winnie The Pooh) but they deserve more representation.
