I don't think anyone at Disney knows who that guy is anymore.

I asked Steve Davidson why he didnt use the hornd king instead of chernabog in WOC. i mentioned that he made that sequence to similar to FAntasmic
He laughed it off and said something like , Really the black cauldron? worst Disney movie.

of course i had to say something back. this was when Alladin was still playing in Hyperion.
i replied

isnt that what storytelling is about. the character was great even if the movie was not and its much better than rehashing the same songs and characters over and over. Dont you think seeing chernabog in Fantasmic then again in WOC is a bit repetitive ?
its just as bad as seeing two Alladin sequences in WOC after the guest just saw the same thing live in Hyperion and i havent even mentioned that you used the same songs for the parades as well

Considering the vast wealth of characters and songs Disney has going back 90 years now, it's a shame that they don't dig a little deeper instead of relying on the greatest hits so often.

Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Beauty & The Beast, Nemo, Johnny Depo Pirates and Incredibles. That’s the only stuff allowed to be in parades and water shows. I think it’s a Zoning Law or something

I would love to see a Friends on the Other Side sequence in the show. It would be missed opportunity if they didn't. Love that song.

They should end Fantasmic. The show sucks now, creates huge crowd problems, and closes the Mark Twain, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Tom Sawyers Island early which creates a capacity issue. I want to ride the Mark Twain at night, dag nabbit.

It's important to note that it's not Steve's (or any other show creator at Disney) sole decision what films, characters and songs are used in his projects. Sure, sometimes what he proposes at first is approved with no changes, but there are also execs who love to meddle or higher level ones who insist on certain IPs in certain projects for whatever reason.

The idea of fast pass is to get people out of ride lines and into stores to buy crap. The logical end game is making guests purchasing ride tickets. (maxipass)

Lest we forget Steve’s original vision for WoC was a lot different until Bob got involved... he’s also the man who created Remember Dreams Come True. I feel he gets a lot of unnecessary flak. He can only do so much, and has created many wonderful night time spectacles that upped the anty even for Disney.

End the fireworks and parades too. They re not worth the headaches they create. Reserve fireworks for special occasions.

Anyone who thinks The Black Cauldron is the worst Disney movie has not seen many Disney movies. It's not even the worst in the official animated canon.

This is too much to hope for, but if they want to include a timely, current, really scary villain in the show, they should include Magica De Spell from the rebooted DuckTales. She's turning out to be one of the cruelest, darkest, most frightening and disturbing characters ever to appear in a Disney show, and is the center of the story arc for the entire season. And since she appears mostly as a living shadow possessing another character, there's a lot they could do with her effects-wise.
