World of Color: Feasible at WDW

We just returned from our first DLR trip... one experience I truly enjoyed and walked away in amazement was WoC. With the recent renovations and expansions at WDW, has the discussion of bring WoC east ever been discussed?

Actually this would be a really cool thing to do at DTD once the expansion/New Theme is complete. Think of it a new Market and all the things to do see, eat and movies, bowling, Cirque and a free WoC show. That would help make DTD really come alive even more than I think it will be.

I believe the WDW version of this is slated to go into the large lake at Disney's Animal Kingdom -- and that park is expanding hours later into the evening to accommodate it.

I'm thinking the "night-time spectacular" show that is going to premiere in AK is going to be something along the lines of World of Color. Probably Animal-themed of course, which will be amazing. Since they named "World of Color" as an homage to Walt and his Disneyland TV show, it would be cool if they named this one "True Life Adventure."

If they do it right then I think that I might actually like it better than World of Color. They could mix animal footage from their many animated animal films, Disney Nature documentaries, and their live-action animal films. Would be really cool to see a scene from The Lion King leading into real-life footage from Disney Nature that looks like a real-life version of that scene, etc. (i.e. the opening of Lion King with Circle of Life, showing the animated gazelle turning into real gazelle.)

As mentioned in other threads where this is discussed, it would be very difficult (though admittedly not impossible) to put a World of Color type show in just about any existing body of water in WDW.

WoC in DCA is in a totally man-made, controlled, chemically-treated and filtered body of water that's fully concrete lined and is essentially a giant swimming pool. Neither World Showcase Lagoon, Village Lake at DD nor the lake in AK fit this requirement. About the closest thing you've got would be the Fantasmic theater or Echo Lake, but Echo Lake is *way* too small and Fantasmic would require ripping out the stage and installing water-filtering systems.

The only hope of WDW getting World of Color would be in a brand-new purpose-built facility. Otherwise, you might see some fountain tech added to the RoE barges, but that's it.

Theoretically sounds cool in DTD EC and AK but the problem is you need a man made cement bottomed lagoon and none of the places in WDW that make sense have that...I think leave it exclusive to DCA gives us all a reason to go there or dream of going :)

I think it should stay at Disneyland in order to remain a unique draw. As spectacular as Illuminations is, I'd never want to see it brought to the west coast.

I really want them to bring Dreams from Disneyland Paris to Disney World but of course that would mean they would have to get rid of Celebrate the Magic and Wishes to put it in and they're both so amazing. I was in tears during Celebrate the Magic on our trip.
