It's really just all the same to me. Dancing waters, loud music, Disney/Pixar magical wishdreams of wonder, giant grand finale' that can be seen in Garden Grove and empties Lake Shasta by 0.02% every time they do a show. Theme Park Water Show. Waitress.... check, please!
That Wine Country Trattoria has such potential, but.... always never lives up to it. Not even close. It's like a mediocre Olive Garden, but an Olive Garden where the entire staff was just trained and is on their first Saturday night shift.
I'm convinced no one in TDA of any importance ever eats at any of their theme park table service restaurants unannounced. Or any of their fast food restaurants. Or perhaps, and this is scary, even steps foot into a theme park unannounced and unescorted by Yes Men.
The sloppy mediocrity of Wine Country Trattoria is only one of many examples of that obvious truth.

Yes and no. I more prefer upbeat and fun soundtracks. But then I also love the beautiful orchestra music of SpectroMagic lol. For some reason these two news songs for the 100th are not doing it for me. But to be fair I’ll wait to hear the whole soundtracks before I judge lol.

Cody Fry's bread and butter is orchestral pop ("I Hear a Symphony", "Eleanor Rigby" cover) plus Loren Allred's most well known for "Never Enough" so despite being disappointed in the snippet I'm still cautiously optimistic for the music; definitely needs more percussion though.

I remember when Disney once gave us iconic nighttime spectacles, now they cater to the lowest denominations of guests. And to be frank, you think Harmonious is one of the greatest things since sliced bread so I don’t even know why I’m even acknowledging your comment

Agreed, but I think this is a problem with the entire World of Color concept as a whole. Once you've seen it once, it's all the same.
Dancing waters, sparkly lights, swelling orchestral music, fuzzy looking cartoons on misty water screens. Okay. Saw it already in 2011.
The lack of floats, of dancers, of real characters, of boats and barges, etc. really limits this show concept. It gets old fast.
Why don't you kids stay and watch the fuzzy cartoon water show while I go grab a beer at Flo's and do Racers Single Rider?

Wait, isn't this argument the same for almost any other entertainment at the Parks. I mean with rare exceptions, such as street entertainers, all the shows are on repeat. Miss the 9p F! showing, don't worry see the 10:30p showing because its the same.

Everyone's personal tastes are different, but there's something about the World of Color concept that seems boring to me. Once you've seen it once or twice, that is.
It's not very repeatable for me. I'm quite happy to skip it and focus on DCA's good rides.
It's just dancing waters, over and over again. With fuzzy cartoons on mist screens that never really work very well at all. No dancers, no actors, no characters, no boats, no barges, not even a jetski eel.
They can change the music, change the fuzzy cartoons, change the "theme", but it's all just the same. Clips of Disney cartoons played with loud music and dancing waters.
If that's your thing, go for it! But I'm gonna go ride Mission: Breakout and hope I get the Pat Benatar song instead.

I see where you’re coming from however this same perspective can be easily applied to fireworks shows, so I won’t go so far as to say it’s a one and done. Full disclosure, I’ve never seen World of Color in person, I’ve never even been to California (the only west coast state i haven’t set foot in), so maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about

True. But I'm not that much for fireworks either for the same reasons. But at least with fireworks, when they do their laser projections of beloved cartoons you can actually see them and make out what they're supposed to be.
I'm more of a Fantasmic! guy, always have been. I love that show! But because of the boats, characters, dancers, props, stunts, barges and sets. Not because of the fuzzy cartoon images on the mist screens or dancing fountains.
I love that! Don't let it stop you.

I'm with you on this. Fantastic! has live performance by live humanity, and a much more complete performance experience. World of Color is technologically impressive, but hollow. It would have been a two-and-done for me if I wasn't acquiescing to others in my party. I enjoyed those first two viewings but after that ... give me the slightly shorter lines.

I'd argue World of Color has a good deal of humanity too—Part of Your World, Define Dancing, and Spring Sprite come to mind as particularly incredible, moving experiences that work on a personal level because they relate their source material in artistic and abstract ways. I just think the show is hampered by an over reliance on screens and a Steve Davison habit of playing all your cards at once (something that's also unfortunately affected F! 2.0 a bit, even though I do still enjoy the updated version), but that's something updates can fix if they ever really wanted to address it.

I agree, though as an occasional tourist I have less experience with it than most here. I appreciate the artistry of editing together an emotionally effective sequence from their amazing library. But with respect to all who enjoy repeating viewings of WOC, projected humanity isn't humans performing live, which I prefer.

I get it for out-of-towners. More power to them! They'll only see it once every five years or so, and it is a visually impressive show.
Especially your first time, when you've heard about it but don't know quite what to expect and then you get overwhelmed. (We are still talking about theme park water shows, aren't we?
)But I've lost track of how many different versions of World of Color there have been in the past decade. With the exception of that one Christmas show with the snowman, they all look and sound the same to me; Disney/Pixar's Beloved Favorites!, swelling music, dancing waters, fuzzy cartoons, end with a Big Grand Finale!
On several occasions in the latter 2010's, I would deposit the out-of-town family in that viewing area, then excuse myself and tell them I'd meet them at the Walt statue after the show. I would claim it was getting chilly and I wanted to go get a Starbucks, but I was fibbing. On at least two of those occasions, I walked into a relatively uncrowded Cars Land, got a beer at Flo's, then went on Racers via Single Rider and chatted with some nice folks in that Singles Bar Scene line.
That's really the only way to do World of Color Version 6.2 in my humble opinion.
