Hello-

I am having a day here. My husband let Callie in at 1 AM. I went down to feed her this morning and I started petting her. Well, her stomach rebelled, to put it mildly on my area rug. When I went to get stuff to clean up the mess, I noticed she'd had a mess in other places. It took me an hour and a half to clean and sanitize everything.

Then my husband told me there was a cyber hack that affected some European airports and I didn't think anything of it, because it didn't seem like Dublin was affected. I got a notification that the incoming flight was delayed by an hour, but we were still departing at 8:30. Then my husband came upstairs and told me our flight was cancelled. He's been waiting to talk to someone because we're flying the same airline to Dublin on Monday with my MIL. So we kind of need to leave tonight. I am know Aer Lingus code shares with American, so maybe they could book on there tonight. Honestly, I am relieved a bit because we were flying over on an Airbus 321, which is a narrow body. Also, I felt a bit ick in my gut about flying with these cyber attacks.

Hello-

I am still in NJ. lol After waiting to talk to an agent for 2.5 hours, we were able to get everything resolved. They automatically rebooked us on a flight leaving Tuesday night while he was waiting to talk to someone, but the agent fixed everything for him. We're leaving tonight, on a downgraded ticket, but the agent told him he was going to get that refunded. She couldn't assign our seat until check in time, but we were booked on the flight. All of the extra leg room seats were gone, so we each got an aisle seat. There were only 8 seats to choose from. It's more of an issue for him than for me. It's only a little bit longer than flying Phoenix.

Instead of 2 hour layover in Dublin, it's now 6.5. So, I booked a lounge, so I can shower, have a bite to eat and sit somewhere quiet.. I am worried because I was discombobulated yesterday and I didn't realize while booking that they don't let you in unless your flight is 2 hr and 45 min away from departure. I booked us for 10 and our flight is at 2:30. I tried to rebook for a later time, but it was sold out. We never stay at lounges longer for the time allotted, anyway and two is the max at this one.

The upside is we were able to push the flight to Dublin with my MIL out one day and my husband was able to get the hotel to adjust our days, too. Also, I decided to channel my nervous energy into cleaning out my night stand drawers and I found €135 in the top drawer. :joyfull:

I am going for a walk later on and I might sneak a quick kettle bell workout in.

That outfit sounds so cute and comfy. I don't really care for wearing boots unless it's snowing, so I don't think I could wear cowboy boots, either.

Do they let underaged people in bars there?

The new sneakers I got to go with the dress are pretty comfy and were on sale, so it should be good.

Yes and no. I know there are some that are 18+ with general entry but a lot of college bars are also pretty lax with their ID standards. I'd be a hypocrite if I called her out on any of it since most of us were finding our way into 21+ campus area bars as early as freshman year. I think it's just par for the course with the college scene.

Many of my nephews and nieces on my husband's side of the family had/have fake id's to get into college bars. I don't think their parents are too happy about it but I think they figure if the "kids" get caught then they can deal with the adult consequences.

Wow, I've missed a lot!!

@HouCuseChickie Congrats on the weight loss so far. And have fun at the family weekend! I kind of dreaded that in college, but I don't think you are anything like my mother, so K should be absolutely fine with you being there. Wear what's comfortable!

@Sans Souci Safe travels!! It sounds less than fun having to rebook everything, but if it means you are safe, that's a good thing!!

@ajrwdwgirl How is it going with your niece living there? Is it a huge adjustment?

I like my new job, but everyone is leaving. 4 out of 6 of the people who already worked there are leaving. The first left for a new store opening up next week where she will basically be a manager, which is what she wanted. The 2nd is leaving for the same new store, because they ONLY sell clothing, not strollers, car seats, etc which are too heavy for her. She had a herniated disc not too long ago, and can't do the really heavy lifting, so the new store is better for her, AND she will still work with the other gal. Then the "boss" announced she was leaving. She's tired of the idiocy imposed by the head office. Like, a customer came in with a play mat thing that she's used for a year and it started to rip along a seam. Rather than try to get it fixed, she brought it back to get her money back....after a year. The boss told her sorry, that's normal wear and tear...we can't really give you your money back for that. She called the head office, and they told the woman we'd give her her money back if we couldn't replace the mat. But the boss had told the woman we couldn't give her money back because that's what the head office told her. So now SHE gets the blame from the customer for not being helpful even though it was their policy. And this week, we're having this big sale, that's really not that big....like they are making out like it's a HUGE deal. It's 20% on a lot of things that have also recently been on sale in the summer. So it's really not a great deal. Well, it's not going well. No one is meeting the goals. So they decided to extend the sale by another week AND increase opening hours...without notice. Just, by the way, tomorrow you have to be open later, and next Friday, you have to be open an extra couple of hours. So anyone working on those days now has to work later, which is actually illegal. They can't just change your schedule once it's been posted. And then once the "boss" said she was leaving (she's not really the boss, she's just the one who makes the shedule and she's been there the longest and knows all the ins and outs....she's kind of in charge, but doesn't really have the title.) the other gal decided it wasn't worth staying. So she is going back to her old job, leaving one other regular worker and one weekend worker who is a college student and only works Saturdays. My contract is only for 7 hours a week, and I've been working about 24 hours a week and only ONE of the people is already gone. They hired one new person, but there are still going to be huge gaps, so I'm guessing I'm going to be working a lot of hours. They offered me the 16 hour contract that the one woman had, and I said yes, but then the higher ups didn't approve it and want to wait.

I THINK it's because anything under 12 hours, you get paid for the hours you work. Anything over 12 hours is a flex contract, where you have an average you have to make. So if you work more than that, you have to balance it out by working fewer hours some other week. So right now, I get paid for all 25 hours I'm working in a week, but if I have a 16 hour contract, 9 of those 25 hours that I work have to be taken off at some other time. And since this is pretty much weekly, I'd end up with the same situation I had at Kik, where I had MONTHS worth of surplus hours, but I couldn't take time off because we didn't have the people to cover the hours. So I ended up having to have those paid out when I left, and then they tax those heavily so you only make half of what you earned. So keeping the 7 hour contract is better right now for both me and for the employer, because they won't have to figure out how to give me months of time off without anyone else to cover the hours. I'll just get paid for all of the hours until they can hire replacements for everyone leaving and then I can have a regular contract. I'm guessing that's why they didn't approve the new contract and said to hold off. But as long as I'm getting the hours, I don't really mind not having the bigger contract.

So that's what's been occupying my time. And Monday was our anniversary (24 years) and we went away for the weekend. It was a bit of a bust, but I enjoyed it anyway. We had booked an escape experience where you get clues and walk around the city to supposedly solve puzzels, and it lets you explore the highlights of the city. But it wasn't well designed. They weren't puzzels. It was like "Find this plaque. Take the 5th letter of the 17th word, then the 3rd letter of the 21st word, and.....bla bla bla, what word does it make?" And then you get the next "clue". After it asked which statement was true about this tower, we read the sign on the tower that said it used to be where taxes were paid to enter the city, and we answered that it was where taxes were paid and it said that was incorrect....the building had been shifted in whatever century, we gave up. It had also given black and white photos of some signs, and we had to find the signs and say what color they were....then it counted it wrong, but we found the same sign in several places in the city in several different colors. So the "puzzels" weren't accurate, it was pouring rain, I had started coming down with a bug, and we just weren't having fun. So we stopped. We went and sat at a cafe for a while, and then went to the shopping street and bought a bunch of books and sat and read until our reservation.

We ate at a Greek restaurant. It was really nice. It seemed like a really popular place. It was very busy, which meant also very loud. We were the only ones in the upstairs when we got there, but by the time we left it was full.

I wanted to order an appetizer with eggplant and tomato sauce, but DH doesn't really like eggplant, and I can't eat that much by myself, so I decided to try it some other time when E is with us.

We both ordered the Athena plate, which had Suvlaki, Suziki, and Gyros, with rice. We also ordered a side of Green beans, which DH didn't end up liking...they were in a tomato sauce and covered with cheese. I just ate the green beans out and left all the cheese on top, just to get my veggies.

Athenaschotel.jpgSperziebonen.jpg

DH ordered Baklava for dessert and I took a tiny bite, but didn't order my own, because I have to watch my sugar intake. Normally, I'd make an exception for a special occassion, but I have to get my blood drawn next week and need to make sure it's not too high.

Baklavaorange.jpg

We stayed overnight in a very cheap hotel DH found, which....you all know his history with finding cheap hotels. This was half the price of the next one up. I took no pictures, but we opened the door, and all it was was 2 single beds pushed together, and that gave you about a foot or foot and a half on either side of the bed to walk, and about 3 feet at the foot of the bed, which was where the door to the toilet and shower were. The toilet and shower were actually pretty nice...small, and there was no shelf in the shower to put your shampoo and soap, but it was clean. There was no TV, no closet, no drawers, no desk...nothing....nowhere to put the luggage. There were 2 hangers on a peg on which to hang a coat. And there was a small shelf on either side of the bed with an outlet to charge your phone....not much more fit on that shelf than a book. At least it was only for one night.

The next day we went to a different city and went to the 20th Century Museum. It was mainly a few kitchens and living rooms set up showing what it was like to live in each decade, starting with WWI. And then there were exhibits of appliances throughout the ages, like hair dryers, TVs, Radios, etc...and then toys, primarily legos. Lots of legos. It was fine for a rainy afternoon. We forgot that nothing is open on Sunday mornings and it was raining and we wanted to be inside, so we went into a cafe and sat until noon when the museum opened. As soon as we left the museum, we went and grabbed a lackluster lunch and got on the road. Restaurants here don't do breakfast or lunch. The hotel had advertised a "really good breakfast" for 15 Euros, but experience tells me that what the Dutch consider a really good breakfast does not include anything I want to eat. You will be given a few hard rolls, some cheese, some cold cuts, and maybe a boiled egg. If you're REALLY lucky, they will also have some yogurt and fruit. I refuse to pay 15 euros for something I can get in a grocery store for 5, and I won't eat cheese unless it's melted, I won't eat boiled eggs, I won't eat most cold cuts, and the fruit is usually a bunch of melon, which I also don't like. So we went to Bagels and Beans for breakfast, and I got a Vega Love wholegrain bagel with Chives "cream cheese" (it's vegan cheese). It has roasted eggplant, zucchini, red pepper, and onion. pesto, rocket, parmesean flakes, and pine nuts. I wanted to go back for lunch....it's a pretty healthy alternative, as far as restaurant options go. But DH didn't want another bagel, so we went to a lunch room. All the lunch rooms pretty much have the same menu. They will have "Uitsmijters" which is an open faced sandwich with egg and something on it like veggies. They will have "Tostis" which is like grilled cheese, but usually with fancier bread and cheeses....I had had one the day before and it was not great. I wanted something I would enjoy rather than just something to fill my stomach. Well...I settled for some not-very-good chicken nuggets and a few fries. I'm not a huge fan of fries in the first place, and a lot of fried foods tend to upset my stomach, but that's what they had on the menu that I would eat. And then we drove home.

The highlight of the weekend was the Greek food and the bagel for breakfast, and the English bookstore. I had packed a nice dress to wear out to dinner, but DH didn't want to drive back and forth to the hotel for me to change, since the hotel was in a town about 20 minutes away, and the car was parked pretty far away from the city center. Since it was pouring rain anyway, he asked if I would mind dressing up the next night instead. I was a little disappointed, but said as long as we could go out the next night to a nice place, so I could dress up then, it was ok.

There really isn't much to do on Sundays in Europe. Some of the larger cities will have their stores open, but most places don't. And Museums seem to be hit or miss. DH suggested finding someplace to eat dinner on the way home, but then I had nowhere to change into my dress, and we'd have had to try to find something to do for a few hours. So then he suggested we wait to go to dinner until Monday night, but he forgot all the restaurants are closed on Mondays. That wasn't going to work. So we booked a new place that we'd been wanting to try, but there's nothing on the menu for A, and it's too expensive to go with the 4 of us if he's not eating. It's a tapas restaurant, so you pay per person, not by what you order. It's a great concept as long as everyone will eat something. And this one is even more expensive than most of the restaurants like it, so we hadn't been there yet, and figured this was a good opportunity.

Basically, each person gets to choose 3 dishes per round. They are small servings, so you can try a lot of different things. So you order, and then as things are ready, they are brought to the table. Some things take longer than others.

The camembert bites with Fig jam were disappointing. Nothing really special. I don't know what I expected, but this wasn't it.
Camembertbites.jpg

The spareribs were really good. I'm not sure what the sauce was, but it was an Asian thing. There was a slight kick to it, but nothing I couldn't handle...my husband didn't notice any heat at all.
Spareribs.jpg

These were listed as Garlic Mushrooms. One thing I noticed about the menu that I don't like is that it isn't comprehensive, meaning they don't list everything in the dish. Other places we've had "garlic mushrooms", it has just been mushrooms sauteed in butter or oil with some garlic, and sometimes served with bread. These had just a couple of mushrooms and it had tomato, black olives, cheese....the olives....that is a weird combination. It didn't match with the other flavors. I LOVE mushrooms, so usually I end up ordering mushroom dishes over and over...this was a one and done.
knoflookChampignons.jpg

Sorry....this one is pretty blurry. Pinchos Brie. It was like crostini toast with brie, fig jam, and a walnut. It was pretty good, but would have been better if it was baked to make the cheese melty.
PinchosBrie.jpg

This was my husband's chicken with Satay sauce. I didn't get pictures of everything he ordered. He had a ceasar salad, and some other things that I won't eat. I can eat Satay any time, so I didn't want to waste stomach space on it.
Satay.jpg

Soto Ayam. I know Ayam is chicken, but I don't know what Soto is. This was AWFUL. We think they made a measurement mistake, like using tablespoon instead of teaspoon. It was inedible. SO salty. We'll try it next time to see if it was just a fluke.
SotoAyam.jpg

This.....this was 🤤 I think I pretty much ordered this every round once I tasted it. It was SOOOOOO good. It's just goatcheese wrapped in bacon with honey and sesame seeds, but it was the best dish of the night. Both of us ordered it multiple times.
Goatcheesebacon.jpg

Pepper steak. That is, steak with a pepper sauce. I regret wasting the stomach space. It was fine, but nothing special. There were much better things.
peppersteak.jpg

Korean Chicken. Also kind of a waste. It was obviously not authentic. They just took a fried chicken strip and drizzled some sort of sauce on it.

And the last bit....

I ordered a mocktail. And this is another thing there the menu let me down. It was called a Virgin Lady, and it said it was orange juice and strawberry. That was not a good description. I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known it also had Passion Fruit in it. I do not like most tripical fruits. Passion Fruit, Mango, Pineapple, Guava.....all disgusting to me. I tried POG juice at Boma once and it was terrible. I'm not sure what all was in this drink, because the only thing it listed was Orange and Strawberry, but then it came with frozen raspberry bits on top, and something else, and it tasted a bit like Pog juice. I didn't get any strawberry flavor at all. It was primarily Orange juice, so I was able to drink it, but I won't be ordering it again. And in the future, I'll have to ask what all is in it that's not listed on the menu. It seems very risky with allergies not to put all the things in the list. DH and E say they think it's fine because if someone had allergies, they'd ask. But I wouldn't think to ask if there was passion fruit in a drink that said it was orange and strawberry. It wouldn't occur to me that a cocktail menu wouldn't list all the things.

VirginLady.jpg

Desserts you could only order 2 per round, but you get unlimited rounds, so it doesn't really matter. I ordered the lemon cheesecake. They are very small, just 2 or 3 bites, so I figured I was safe with only one, and I figured the cheesecake probably has a little less sugar than the apple crumble and the cookie dough my husband ordered. The cookie dough was like mochi....it was a shell of chewy cookie dough (It looked chewy anyway) filled with vanilla ice cream. DH said both his were good. There were lots of other options, too, but again, I was watching my sugar intake. So I didn't taste DH's either.
dessert.jpg

We'll definitely go there again and we can go with E, but not with A. But E will love the Pinchos Brie, and the spare ribs, and I think if the soup was a fluke, she'd like that, too. She loves Asian soups...well, she loves soups in general, but she often orders soup dishes in Asian restaurants. There's an Asian Fusian tapas place we love and she always gets the soup there.

There was a Cuban tapas place we always liked to go, but it closed down somewhere around February or March, and was supposed to be replaced immediately, but it must have fallen through because it's still closed. This place opened right across the street from it, though. But it IS more expensive, so we'll probably not go very often, but it's good. I'll go back for that goat cheese dish alone.

A little midweek check-in...

The scale is frozen at the moment, but positive changes are still happening with clothing fit, visuals (I can now actually see defined abs above that lower belly pooch I'm trying to shed), and some of the measuring tape measurements I do each week. I do think I may need to do some nutritional reevaluation (may have to start tracking macros) and put some more focus on sleep management and stress reduction. Of course, there is boosting the workout angle, but I have already increased so much...from walking distance and weight amounts being lifted to number of reps and intensity in cardio (resistance/pace boost). I'm really thinking it's a blend of needing to find a way to change up the physical and find a few dietary issues that could be tweaked. More sleep couldn't hurt so I'm trying to tackle that too. The caloric and nutrient factor is a bit of a conundrum. I'm already focusing on nutrient dense foods that are lower in fat and calories, while boosting protein and fiber. Some of the macro calculators have me around 1500 calories a day while others say I should be around 1950 for my goals...when coupled with my fitness/activity levels. So, I've been shooting for something in the middle to lower end of that but giving myself some grace if I wind up on the higher end. Sure, I've had a few "cheats" here and there, but one big frosting stuffed cookie on a Saturday night isn't going to destroy my work nor will it add up to even a pound of fat. In fact, it's little treats like that which help make for a sustainable approach. I still know it's working because we had school ball on Monday and people who haven't seen me since May didn't recognize me at first.

Other than that, I'm about a week out from parent weekend at OU for Kendall. She still wants to do my hair/makeup, I caved and got ruffle socks to wear with the dress we agreed on (since I went for sneakers instead of boots), and they're starting to look at who all will be going out together to ensure time for some preliminary introductions. Sam's softball schedule is also all over the place. We have so much, even on weekends when there's nothing written in. On a positive note, I got a great price on air for her upcoming tournament in Arizona. $389 r/t for both of us and at times that are preferable for our potential schedule. Now I have to remember to modify my rental car, since the price dropped on the earlier flight and we're getting in about 2 hours earlier.

@Songbird76 it sounds like you had some interesting adventures. It's nice that you and your husband were able to have a little getaway together and at least he didn't pick too bad of a hotel this time.

Thanks for asking about my niece, things have been going well with her move in. She is really only here Sunday through Thursday morning. She has been going home on Thursday nights. She has been helpful with the dogs and has done some stuff to help around the house. This week I caught a really bad cold and I mentioned that cookie dough ice cream sounded good and when she came home from classes the next day she had gotten me a pint of it. I shared with her, but that was really thoughtful. The only big annoyance is that she likes to use a lot of perfumy fragrances that are strong, and strong perfumy smells really bother me and in the past have triggered migraines. I talked to her about it and she hasn't been spraying them in the house but in her car but the smell doesn't always dissipate enough off of her by the end of the day. But we'll work it out eventually.

I got the covid and flu shot Saturday. My pharmacy switched to Moderna last year and wow. It is much more intense than Pfizer, but I felt better more quickly. Pfizer used to take me out of commission for 2 days, this was one. My arm finally stopped hurting yesterday. I don't think I have ever sweated so much from a vaccine. So gross
I'm just now reading this post two weeks later, lol, but yeah, Moderna takes me out every time.

I am in the very small group of people who can claim vaccine injury (allergic reaction to vaccine ingredients) so I have to get the Moderna one. Fortunately, the US flu shot does not contain the ingredient I'm allergic to, but I digress. I almost never have any reaction to the flu shot. I got it last week. Forgot that I'd even gotten it until I was at an unrelated doctor's appointment and she looked and asked me if I'd gotten a vaccine the day before. I still had the bandaid on.

I'm getting the covid vaccine tomorrow and am dreading it. Figure it's gonna be two days of misery, but one of my friends called me to cancel plans because his entire family had it, so it lit a fire under me to go get it.

First, congrats on the weight loss. That's awesome.

I do have a couple of suggestions. Okay, unsolicited advice, lol. I have actually lost 40 pounds this year. I started taking it off in January. Same thing as you, dropped 25 pounds quickly and have slowly been dropping it since then. I also haven't been able to exercise the majority of the year, so this is strictly through dieting.

First, I think it's better for long-term goals to weigh in monthly instead of weekly. Or maybe every two weeks. I think if you weigh too frequently, you just get discouraged. Personal opinion. I don't even own a scale. So you didn't lose weight this week...you're doing fine! Your body tries to gain back weight when it's lost it. Losing it is the first part of the battle...keeping it off is the hard part.

Second, I have never counted calories. For one, I know with my ADHD that I'd never stick with it. I've also seen studies where it can be counterproductive because it actually puts your body into starvation mode and slows your metabolism. Then your body may try burning muscle instead of fat. Not good.

The other thing I don't like about it is it doesn't focus on long-term changes. Like you say "oh, I'll count calories for this long." Well, what do you do after that? Are you going back to the way you were eating before? That's just asking to put the weight back on. Slow and steady is the best way (after the initial drop).

Circling back, I had months where I didn't lose any weight, or maybe only lost two pounds. Then I'd have a month where I lost five. It was all okay. I haven't been this weight since high school, and this is a diet I can actually maintain into the future. I still need to lose more, but again, slow and steady.

I focused more on what you're already doing actually. Reducing fat drastically because my body doesn't handle it well at all. Increasing protein. Not as much the fiber because of my GI issues, but definitely the protein. Also working in the complex carbs. People are shocked when I tell them "oh yeah, I eat a ton of rice and pasta." I just don't add the cream sauces and limit cheese on my pasta. Chipotle is still a thing; I just get a rice and bean bowl with veggies and guac instead of sour cream (or I add low fat sour cream from home). Lots of sushi and other Japanese/Korean food. If I'm hungry, I keep low fat snacks around. I cut out potato chips, fried food, heavy cream sauces, and really fatty desserts (I will do desserts that are straight sugar, but again, that's because of my own needs). Amazingly, I really don't miss the stuff I cut out anymore, I think because I allow myself other stuff still, like candy and the occasional burrito.

And also, don't feel guilty about having the cookie. Eat the cookie. It's okay.

Thank you for reading that completely unsolicited advice erm coming to my TED talk ahem, letting me share my thoughts.

I lost 40 pounds this year also. Thankfully I found it in the back of my wallet.

On a serious note. To any of y'all that are losing/ have lost weight , congratulations. You are doing amazing. I try not to offer advice as everyone is different, and what works for one doesn't always work for another.
Both me and Mrs Ferret lost a lot of weight when I was early 40's with a low carb diet. Unfortunately it wasn't sustainable and we put weight back on. This year we are losing the weight again but by lowering the amount we eat . 🤞 This is a better long term option for us as there is no food that we can't have. Just Less of it.
But as someone younger and wiser said .
Eat the cookie.

Yep, I definitely do NOT tell people to do what I did. I know I cannot process fat correctly. My body apparently goes "sugar? Eh. Whatever." Cutting sugar didn't do a darned thing. So because I know that about my body, I will do the ill advised thing of increasing sugar in favor of reducing fat. I do not advise anyone else to do this. I also drink skim milk. I do not advise anyone else to do this. Goes against generally recommended nutritional advice, but I gotta work with my metabolism.

I only give the general advice of slow and steady, don't weigh in too frequently, make sure you're doing something sustainable, and if you really want the cookie, eat the cookie. And also, if you're hungry, listen to your body and eat. Oh, and if you think there is an underlying medical condition which is making you have trouble losing weight, go to the doctor. This is also where I have my opinions that I think there's probably more conditions causing weight gain than we even realize at this point, but anyway...

I will say it is easier to cut certain foods when your stomach goes "I HATE YOU" when you eat those foods. Which was initially what was happening. Now it's not quite as extreme since we evicted the faulty gallbladder, but it's still easier to go "nah, I don't want the fried chicken" if you know you're getting punished for it later.

Yeah, it was overall a good weekend. We can at least laugh about how ridiculous the "puzzels" were on the city escape tour, and we stopped it because we could either have wasted 30 bucks and the time already spent, or 30 bucks plus a couple more hours. Why waste even more time on something that isn't fun when you can sit at a cafe and have a soda and then go buy books?? So we were able to salvage it. We're usually pretty good about that kind of thing. We're mostly pretty easy-going people and we can have a good time doing almost anything, and if what we are doing isn't fun, we just chalk it up to experience and find something else to do. It's one of the reasons I don't understand why he doesn't seem to enjoy Disney. We can have fun anywhere else and we are low maintenance....there's so much to do at Disney and there are so many options. I don't get how he can't find SOMETHING that doesn't make him grouchy. But whatever....as long as I can still go with E, I'm a happy camper.

I hear you on scents. Really strong scents will nauseate me and/or give me a headache. I'm not sure what classifies as a migraine and what's just a normal headache, so I don't want to say I get migraines. But it does make me feel ill. I can handle certain scents, like peppermint. That doesn't seem to bother me. Vanilla is another. But there are some that are just horrible. I can not go into a store that sells incense. There's something about that cloyingly sweet and burning thing that makes me immediately ill. And I hate when people bathe in perfume. There was a lady who came into the store on Wednesday, and half an hour after she left, I could still smell her perfume, and it's a scent I HATE....I don't know what perfume it is, but it smells AWFUL. I don't know why anyone would wear that. It smells almost like black pepper to me, but sweeter.

It's nice that she helps with the dogs and such and that she does nice things for you. I'm sure you'll get things figured out....she at least seems reasonable and willing to adjust, which is a good sign. I hope she has a great time there!! How far is her school from you?
