I have a glider thing that I use as well. I think with my new medication my stupid back can handle running. (I hope ) I spent the weekend at Cedar Point and felt great!

I live less than two hours away so we have Platinum Passes and also go to Kings Island during the summer too
One of the only good things about being from Ohio. ha! The beach up there is really nice as well!

I don't like crowds, either. That is why I am on the fence about going. The building my husband's apt is in has a roof top deck with views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan, so we could probably go up there. I am sure it will be popular that night, but that would probably feel more manageable for me, anxiety-wise.

I don't know if it is too much impact for you, but rebounders (mini trampolines) are good for lower impact exercise.

My husband found out he is going to London for a week for work. He asked me if I wanted to come along, since his airfare, hotel and meals are covered. So, we'd just have to pay for my flight and meals. However, this trip falls in dates of my 4 days of being on call for jury duty.
Anyway, I filed for an exemption. Not sure I will get it. I do have some traveling coming up in Sept that I have paid for, so I hope they don't punt me into Sept. I can do most of August. It's summer, people travel.

That's crazy that a sting can cause joint pain. I guess it shouldn't be surprising, since it triggers an inflammatory response in the body. I'ver never even heard of a red wasp. *shudders*
My son has this massive cyst/boil on his jaw, just below his ear. He had scheduled an appointment for Friday, but he was in so much pain yesterday, he went to urgent care. They gave him antibiotics and a prescription megadose of ibuprofen. He has a follow up on Friday. It looked a bit better today once he got a dose on antibiotics.

Wow, sounds like it's been quite a week for all of us!!
I tried to make an appointment with my doctor to look at my heel, but he's on vacation this week, so it will have to wait until next week. I am on my feet constantly at work, and they started mandating work shoes in May. I chose the ones that look and feel most like sport shoes, but they still aren't comfortable, and the people I've talked to who have different ones all say theirs are terrible. I've had pain in my heel for a while, but since getting these shoes, it's worse. I put in gel insoles to make them a bit more bearable, but by the end of the night, my left heel is in a lot of pain, and then I get these shooting pains on the side, like someone is hammering a nail into the side of my heel. It's excruciating. I'm not sure what triggers it, but suddenly there's a sharp pain there. I'm thinking maybe Plantar Faciitis? But there are also 2 little bumps on the side of my heel right where I get those shooting pains. The main pain is on the bottom, but the shooting pains are on the side. If I have a doctor's note, maybe they can find me some work that doesn't involve as much walking until it's better.

I'm so sorry to hear your work shoes are causing discomfort and hope the doctor can help you but you may need to see a podiatrist. Can you see one without a referral? Dh has to wear boots that aren't always the most comfy and has gotten inserts that are plastic and covered with a cushion which meant he had to remove the inside bottom of his boots and since hasn't had any problems. I hope that's all it takes to solve your issues.
Dh says hi and said maybe Spenco inserts with a gel over them may help intil you can get prescription ones from your doctor

No, can't get in without a referral. I could probably get a referral from the Diabetes specialist, but even if you have a referral, it will be several days if not weeks before I can get an appointment. So we'll see how it goes at the doc on Monday.
{{HUGS}} Do you have a place like Urgent Care where you can go as you shouldn't be walking around like that or is there somebody that's covering for your regular doctor?

It's honestly not too bad once I have a good night's rest. It's consistent with the symptoms of Plantar Faciitis. I remember my brother having that in high school. I have a month of vacation coming up here where I won't be constantly on my feet, so hopefully, it will feel better after that. I'll call the doctor on Monday and have it looked at, and then we'll go from there. If it hurts too badly, I'll call in sick to work on Thursday and Friday. I have today off anyway. It always feels better after a day or two of rest, then by the end of the night at work, it's bad, then the next day, it's bearable, and if I have a day off, it's fine until I work again. It can't be anything TOO serious or it wouldn't feel better after a day of rest. The worst thing is those shooting pains I get.

It sounds like PF. Foot pain is the worst. The nature of your job probably puts you at risk for it. Is that the same side as the hip that you got steroid injections for pain?

Good morning.
I did a full body workout out. My sinuses are acting up today, so I am not feeling 100%. I might try to get out for a walk, but honestly, I have post nasal drip and pressure behind my eye. I'll take some ibuprofen and see if it improves those things.
My son is hell bent on befriending this cat that we feed. He now sits outside about 5' away on patio furniture while she's eating. He also tosses her treats while he is sitting there. I have been telling him that this is probably the most he can expect from her. He is talking about building her a house for the colder weather. I am just glad she's spayed. I am certain she lives in our yard and the small piece of land next to us. I keep seeing her lurking around in the yard and slinking into the wooded area next to us.

The roof top deck also sounds very appealing. Even if there are more people up there than normal, it shouldn't be like fighting the throngs of people trying to get in and out of LSP.

The last time I nursed a wasp sting (different kind of wasp), the pain was limited to the finger which had been stung. I can't even imagine how painful this would be if I'd been stung more than once. They are nasty little creatures, but kind of cool looking...
Oh no! That sounds just horrible! I wonder if the location also led to additional pain. Glad to hear that the antibiotics appear to be helping and hopefully the big dose of ibuprofen eased the pain. When he goes for his follow up, you might even see if they can draw fluid or drain it for a culture.

Everything from the sting still wasn't feeling right yesterday, so I took some Benadryl and took another break day. While still a bit itchy, the pain, redness and heat around the sting area is really improving. I'm hoping to make it to the gym today since I'm starting to feel like a bit of a slug 
I'm also hoping we're seeing an end to this wasp situation...at least in the driveway. The older one and I went out to pick up her other antibiotics yesterday (thinking she won't need them) and popped into the store for some odds and ends as well as a new can of wasp spray. Good thing I got the spray, because when I got home, my husband was setting up to dismantle the gate post where the wasps seemed to be congregating. I'm not sure why he thought this was a good idea when we were out of spray, but at least I got home in time. Upon removing the top cap to the post, he found a large nest inside of the metal post. He sprayed the nest and got one that was perched on top of the nest; however, I question if he sprayed it enough. When I'm taking out a wasp nest, I drown that thing in poison. When I got up this morning, I found a wasp sitting where they always do. I killed it and haven't seen any since, but I suspect he wasn't aggressive enough with his spraying.

Nope, other side. Which is probably why, though....with the hip, I couldn't walk normally, so I had to put more weight on the other side. I'm betting the 2 are linked. My job definitely puts me at risk for it. I know I'm not the first to have foot issues there.
