We may not even get to go on our trip. When I watched the news this morning, they said that our airport is dumping 30% of flights in July and August to combat the issues they've been having where it's so busy that people are missing flights even when they come hours early. They asked the airlines to voluntarily look into what could be canceled, but that apparently didn't happen. So they are going to start just scrapping flights and we won't know for a few days to a week whether ours is one of them. Airports in Germany and Belgium are having the same issues....Belgium is dumping HALF their flights. So booking somewhere else is not going to help. So now we wait.
Good morning,
Another gym day yesterday. We decided to switch it up with cardio and hit the recumbent bikes for 30 minutes. We made it through (I went close to 8 miles) but had two observations.
1. The seat positioning system is about a half inch off from my home bike. So, we either feel like we're just a bit too close or just a bit too far.
2. The seats have no padding. My home recumbent has a nicely cushioned seat...gym is hard plastic. Let's just say 30 minutes on this thing was not very kind to our rear ends!
We also worked arms and back yesterday. So, I guess that makes today a leg day
On a positive note with the broken leg situation, we're not out the $ for the prospect camp we'd reserved. This tournament had a bunch of college prospect camps tied to it, which you could book separately from tournament game play. At the time when my husband was booking, Sam was all about going to Texas A&M's camp. I was pushing for another school (something farther from home that we might not want to travel to for stand-alone camps at their school campuses) and 24 hours later, she had also changed her mind, but changing would have meant losing 30% of our payment. So we stuck with A&M. June 1st was the last day to cancel/change and get anything back. Well, I guess it was an omen, because A&M's head coach retired and her replacement has yet to be announced. So, the A&M camp was canceled. Those enrolled could either be placed in another camp with openings or get a refund. These camps are not cheap, and she obviously can't participate, so we gladly took that unexpected refund. We may still be allowed to go and observe camps, so depending on time, we may pick another school or cluster camp and go take a look.
Well written. Everyone needs to be treated equally with the same respect. No wonder many chose not to return.I hope you guys can get out. It's such a stressful time right now. Fingers crossed for you and your family.
It is the same thing here. American put 120 of their air craft out of commission because they simply don't have enough pilots .Others are canceling flights. They ones they furloughed got new jobs and when called back, they declined. These pilots decided they actually liked having a job where they could spend time with their spouses and children every day. Other pilots took handsome buy outs. Here, the airlines bring on new pilots from the regional airlines and they cut back 5% of their pilots during the pandemic, so now flights to smaller cities have been eliminated. I read they are trying to poach pilots from Australia now. Good luck with that. Not sure I'd want to move here right now. I'd ask for hazard pay.
It's like these companies are shocked that their employees weren't hanging around waiting for a call back. Life goes on. People need to eat. Companies do what is in their best interest, why shouldn't their furloughed employees?

This guy came up in my recommended videos just now. He's vlogging from inside Yellowstone. He might be worth a gander.
What is a cluster camp?
He’s really great! I follow his channel.
There are days I wish I could afford a class A and run away from homeHe randomly showed up for me on YouTube. That seems like an interesting life he leads, moving around from national park to national park working as a bartender. I'm kind of envious, except I don't think I could live in a Winnebago.![]()

Yup, they start at just over 125,000 and go over 3 million depending on size, motor, floor plan, how high end.............. The only reason I have a clue about them is on one of my Lancaster fabric/wine shopping trips a place that sells them had an open houseAre those the ones that look like tour buses? Then, yes, I could probably live in that.![]()
That's been a huge problem here since things reopened. People had to go and get other jobs during the lockdown because hotels, restaurants, airlines were all shut down. People HAD to have income, so they went and found jobs in the essential places....online stores, warehouses, grocery stores. And those are more stable. If another wave of corona comes along and they end up locking down again, people want to be assured that their job isn't going to go away again. So when things opened up and employers called the employees back, people just declined to return to their old jobs. They had more job security than they did before, so they stayed with the new jobs, which meant employers have been scrambling to find people to replace all those people, because they also didn't want to pay more or give any sort of incentive to attract new employees. So people say "I'm not willing to do that work for that little pay and no job security, sorry." So everthing is short-staffed now.I hope you guys can get out. It's such a stressful time right now. Fingers crossed for you and your family.

I used Mr Google to find the price of the cheapest new one
Happy Friday!
Just checking in with a full body tabata workout followed by a full body stretching workout. I had no idea the stretching working would be 25 min. It was kind of boring, but necessary. There was some foam rolling, which felt good. But it's hard to hold a stretch for 3 minutes. I get bored quickly.
I got a summons for jury duty yesterday. It is the second one I've gotten since I lived here. I got one in Illinois once and I was able to decline, because I was going to school out of state at the time. My husband got one earlier this year. He showed up and they cancelled jury selection that day without him knowing, so he came back home. Meanwhile, I got selected to sit through the craziest malpractice trial that lasted nearly two weeks.
Anyway, my husband is off today, so we're going to get out and do stuff. I think I am going to this local mom n pop place for ice cream today. I found this place last summer and it is so good. Their coconut cream ice cream is *chef's kiss*.

Which makes me curious....have any of the airlines been in contact with you to ask if you're still interesed in an FA position?

There are several nice vineyards down there but no they're not Amish. The fabric stores are mostly Amish/Mennonite that I go to, one doesn't even have electricityLancaster, PA? The Amish sell wine?
