working out for Disney

Oh, they'd LET you sit in a lower class seat than what you paid for, for no extra charge, just because they screwed up? Wow....how generous of them. Glad you got the vouchers. Why did it even let you reserve premium seats if they didn't have premium seating on that flight?
And did you get food poisoning from the airplane food? Sounds like you deserved a nice vacation after all that!!

Hello-

School is back in session, so I have more time.

I am still walking and doing yoga. In fact, I found a free app for the yoga lovers out there. It's called Down Dog Yoga. It's surprisingly good for being free--no ads and it even has music. You can pay a monthly fee to "unlock" more options like a different teacher's voice, type of music and speed of the practice, body part focus. You choose the type of practice, the length you want to practice and level you are and it generates a practice for you. You get a different practice each time. I have no interest in this app, I am just sharing a free yoga app for the yogis here. It's not my favorite, to be honest, but someone else might love it. :)

I went to England and France this summer. It was so crazy. My husband bought premium economy tickets (because he is 6'4'') on American Airlines through British Airways--because they have a code share. We went to check in 24 hours before the flight and we couldn't. So, my husband called BA and they didn't know why. BA contacted AA and they said the aircraft with the premium economy wasn't operating that day. BUT AA offered to let us sit in Economy as a "courtesy" and no compensation for the inconvenience. LOL. No. These tickets were way more costly than an Economy seat. So my husband called BA again and they were able to book us in Premium Economy a day later. They only downside was we had to change planes in London, as we had non stop on AA. My husband wrote AA a fiery letter and we got $900 in vouchers for our troubles.:rolleyes::rolleyes: Like I want to fly AA now.

So, I got to my MIL's house eventually and I woke up with food poisoning on the first morning there. :cautious::hilarious: But it was a great trip once we got all of that out of the way. We flew to Nice for a few nights and that was a really enjoyable, laid back trip. I'll post some photos.

So that was the highlight of my summer. :)

We went to DC for Labor Day weekend and we went for tapas at Jaleo. They are opening one up at Disney Springs. I hope it does well there.

I've been getting up at 5 AM to do my yoga. I am always up that early anyway, so I thought I might as well get my workout in.
Welcome back and glad you had a good summer. We missed you

Good morning. For those who don't know I may have less time to log in because one of mine is being home schooled this year. It was the only way for him to double up on classes:banghead: All is mostly well and I'm back to doing my practice first because one I need it and 2 it's quiet. I spent some quality time with Jillian Michaels this week and today is going to be my last swimming day for the summer:mad:

Wow. You had a lot of ups and downs this summer. Glad things have settled down a bit now for you. (I'm sure you had some good experiences in England and France--nice places for a summer vacation!) :)

I did have a good time once I was firing on all cylinders again. :) I wished we'd stayed longer in Nice. It was really hot in England and nobody there has AC. My MIL's guest room has no exterior windows. The windows opened out into a sun room, which is essentially all windows. It got really stuffy. The room was just off the kitchen and she insisted on turning on her oven every night to cook. I offered to cook for everyone and we offered to treat them to a "take away" meal, but she insisted on turning on that oven every night! :hilarious:

It was ridiculous-it took three hours to sort out. When my husband was on the phone, he asked if they would bump us up to Biz. The agent laughed at him. It was their fault and I didn't see why we shouldn't have gotten what we'd paid for. I think what happened is they had to use a different plane for the flight and I don't think all planes are fitted with premium economy yet. You're really only paying for extra leg room and the cabin is very small--I think there are 20-odd seats.

I don't think I got food poisoning from the airplane food, because my husband and son had the same thing as I did. I think it was something I'd eaten earlier. But, my MIL served chicken for dinner and it was pink in some parts. I noticed the texture was off, so I looked at the chicken and it was pink. It could have been that. I got sick 12 hours later. I was just relieved it wasn't noro. I would have felt so badly making everyone else sick.

Good for you. You have way more patience than I do. It's a trial just re-directing my son to do his homework. I hope you enjoyed your last swim of the season. Summer went by so quickly...

Thank you. Did you ever get your blood pressure sorted out with your new doctor? I noticed you said you have stink bugs. I have them all year! I just see more of them in the fall and spring. :cautious:
Hi. I had a pre-meeting with my new dtr. I have a checkup next week. I have gotten it down to 129/72 which is lots lower than this time last year. We may need to tweak my bp meds a bit. Thank you for asking! That is so sweet !
Yes I have found three in the house today. I hate those things! Ugh I would not like them year round.
So any fall trips planned? We leave for WDW in 23 days!

Hello-

I did an hour of yoga early this morning and then went out for a stroll. I don't know how many spider webs I walked through. I am always concerned one is going to hitch a ride in my hair, so I am always running hands on my head. It's that time of year. I wish they would do a better job of eating the stink bugs.

That's great news about the blood pressure!

I am going on a Disney cruise in two weeks. It's a group of friends I meet with once a year. My husband doesn't care for cruises and my son hates them, so I go alone. I was going to go to WDW in early November. I'm probably going to back out. My husband will be in Minneapolis for the last 2 weeks of October and then we are going to Chicago for Thanksgiving. I think I'll sit this trip out.

Nice! I want to go on a cruise. I am trying to talk my hubby into an Alaskan disney cruise. Sounds like you have a pretty busy travel schedule. Have a good evening! Hubby on way home.😁

I avoided using my oven the entire summer because it was so hot and no one here has AC either. My son kept asking for Pizza and I was like "Nope, not turning on the oven!!"

Yeah, there are a lot of those airlines who do stuff like that. Oversell seats and then bump someone because they don't have room. Or have hidden costs, or whatever. Martinair delayed our flight by 7 hours once, so we missed our connection, but there were about 30 people on the flight with the same connection. Instead of just creating a new flight for us, or trying to get us on other flights, they chartered a bus. A 3 hour long bus ride instead of a 30 minute flight, after a 7 hour delay and a 9 hour flight, then we had to get our luggage and move it to the bus and they wouldn't let us get food. I think we ended up going something like 20 hours without food because they lost one of the kids' car seats and we were waiting for it while all the other people were on the bus eating the food provided, which was gone by the time we got on the bus, sans car seat. We got no compensation for that, either. I think they are pretty unethical, but it's kind of a necessary evil sometimes.

So far home school is going well and we're slowly making a schedule out of it:joyfull: Keeping up with my practices and walking between the rain drops:banghead: This has got to be the rainiest summer I can remember and that's saying something because I like to go to Florida in summer. Tonight the guys are getting chicken, bean, rice and veggie stoup and I'm going to have a veggie and bean salad with not exactly Caesar dressing. Lots of garlic and a bit of wakame
