It is hard to lose weight @Songbird76. Look at it this way-you are trying. A lot of people just wouldn’t bother so take some satisfaction in that. My DD really doesn’t exercise and sits at a desk all day. She has tried to go to the gym a few times but can’t stick with it. The last dtr visit, he told her she is healthy and all her tests came back fine and not to worry about the extra weight. She is just so busy to try to fit anything extra in right now. She does eat healthy and moves as much as possible. Not everyone is skinny or even needs to be. She has the right attitude that “ I am me and not anyone else. “ Be happy with your own body cause you are special! 😊
Yeah, I thought I was doing really well when my DS started at the new school. After a few weeks, I noticed my clothes were a little looser and when I went to buy a new shirt, I needed to get one size smaller...I was really happy. But that's where it ended. And that was like 9 months ago. Of course, DS broke his wrist in the last month of school so he couldn't ride his bike home from school, and in the summer, I only work evenings because the kids are home during the day, so I haven't ridden my bike to work (I don't like riding alone after dark) for weeks, but I haven't gained anything back that I know of. It was so hot for 6 weeks that I had no appetite and this past week, I had a bug so I still wasn't eating much. So maybe when school starts in a week and a half, it will surprise my body to be riding my bike again and I'll lose more. I'm told that your body gets used to the exercise if you always do the same thing, and it won't be effective anymore. So maybe the change will work to my advantage.

Considering everything not gaining means you're on track. stress can cause weight gain or plateaus

I probably should go to the ER. As I reported, somewhere, last night I had a hunk of baked Cod and a good sized portion of steamed Broccoli (Ice Cream for dessert) Tonight, and this was without any thought what so ever, I had a George Foreman grilled skinless Chicken Breast and two ears of corn on the cob cooked with microwave magic. Had the Ice cream again though, but, it still represents a much different meal then I am used too. I must be sick, but, I think I feel alright.

Hang in there @Songbird76 . Just continue to eat what you normally enjoy, but (as @Goofyernmost mentioned) cut down on the portions--that's the only method that works for me as well, if I'm on a diet. I forced myself to cut back recently, as I was putting on some pounds. I'm down a few now, and only weigh myself about about 10 days or so. What's important is you're not gaining any extra weight, so you're on the right track there.

I think everyone's metabolism is different, and that may also be why people lose weight at various stages. I've known people who can drop pounds very quickly, while others, who are just as diligent in diet and exercise, seem to struggle. But don't give up--even if it doesn't always show in the scale, you may be losing fat and toning up. That's really important, too.

Nothing posted on this little thread in more than a week so I thought I would post this mornings breakfast.
Butterflied pork chop stuffed with sausage and cheddar and wrapped in bacon, scrambled eggs, tomatoes and watermelon fresh from the neighbor's garden. Fairly tasty and better, with less calories and carbs, than fast food biscuits and hash browns every time.

Hang in there! How's the schooling going? I'm sure this first couple of weeks of "back to school" time are a bit overwhelming, but you'll get into a routine, knowing you.
I'm sorry I worded that wrong.:banghead: I meant I just kept swimming in the water.
We're starting classes Tuesday to keep on schedule with the school it will be easier for those activities.

Hello-

School is back in session, so I have more time.

I am still walking and doing yoga. In fact, I found a free app for the yoga lovers out there. It's called Down Dog Yoga. It's surprisingly good for being free--no ads and it even has music. You can pay a monthly fee to "unlock" more options like a different teacher's voice, type of music and speed of the practice, body part focus. You choose the type of practice, the length you want to practice and level you are and it generates a practice for you. You get a different practice each time. I have no interest in this app, I am just sharing a free yoga app for the yogis here. It's not my favorite, to be honest, but someone else might love it. :)

I went to England and France this summer. It was so crazy. My husband bought premium economy tickets (because he is 6'4'') on American Airlines through British Airways--because they have a code share. We went to check in 24 hours before the flight and we couldn't. So, my husband called BA and they didn't know why. BA contacted AA and they said the aircraft with the premium economy wasn't operating that day. BUT AA offered to let us sit in Economy as a "courtesy" and no compensation for the inconvenience. LOL. No. These tickets were way more costly than an Economy seat. So my husband called BA again and they were able to book us in Premium Economy a day later. They only downside was we had to change planes in London, as we had non stop on AA. My husband wrote AA a fiery letter and we got $900 in vouchers for our troubles.:rolleyes::rolleyes: Like I want to fly AA now.

So, I got to my MIL's house eventually and I woke up with food poisoning on the first morning there. :cautious::hilarious: But it was a great trip once we got all of that out of the way. We flew to Nice for a few nights and that was a really enjoyable, laid back trip. I'll post some photos.

So that was the highlight of my summer. :)

We went to DC for Labor Day weekend and we went for tapas at Jaleo. They are opening one up at Disney Springs. I hope it does well there.

I've been getting up at 5 AM to do my yoga. I am always up that early anyway, so I thought I might as well get my workout in.
