Been hanging around the house all morning watching the Rose Parade. Those floats are amazing. Eagerly awaiting the game and, of course, rooting for the Dawgs!
Had our traditional southern New Years meal and it was extra tasty. Black eyed peas, collards, leftover beef stew, cornbread and a slice of Vidalia onion. I don't ever remember a New Years meal without peas and collards. The beef stew was simmered for about six hours yesterday and made the house smell so good. It might be even tastier today. And, for me, topped with hot sauce for a little extra zing.

Tim won at least for today because he got practice one up, Adrienne got the intro up and practices start tomorrow. I mad coleslaw with a cashew based dressing for lunch and dinner was curry and hummus. Going to bed early the local idiots set off fireworks every hour on the hour from midnight until 3am:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

It is cold here today, with a few snowflakes this morning. We never got above freezing today and it is supposed to be in the low teens in the morning with windchill below zero. Now I know that is nothing to my northern friends, but darn nippy here.

Well, it got down to 10 degrees this morning, but it has already rebounded all the way to 18 right now. Supposed to be about a week long cold snap here. And the Dawgs won yesterday in one of the best Rose Bowl games ever!

Hi! We got down to 5. DH didn't bear to look at the wind chill. When I got up, it was 12. Now, it is 32, which is higher than they forecasted. We got freezing rain NYEve. There were a lot of traffic accidents. It hit around dinner time when everyone was out. And it hit fast. I am glad we spent it inside - not sliding around!
Congrats on the Dawgs win!! That was one of the best games I have ever watched!! Lots better than the Clemson game.

Yep, quite chilly here in the south. The Rose Bowl was a great game. I was actually pulling for Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, something I never do, but this time I thought it would be more fun to beat Alabama in the Championship Game than to beat Clemson. Heck, we can beat Clemson anytime. :)

Color me crazy. I dressed up in a mash up of the tire guy and Kenny from Southpark. Let's just say is wasn't my finest hour, at least some of my foreign language vocabulary got used:angelic: In happier news day 3 with Tim wasn't bad at all and my tummy still feels it:) I made a much smarter lunch selection today tomato veggie lentil soup and dinner will be the cauliflower "fried rice". Stay safe and warm and no matter what @MinnieM123 says winter stinks!

OK, @figmentfan423 the eating better again has started. Today's lunch was especially good, and creative if I say so myself. I made a broccoli salad with finely diced broccoli, red onion and golden raisins and made a dressing of three parts plain Greek yogurt, one part mayo and a drizzle of apple cider vinegar. The Greek yogurt was to cut back on some of the calories instead of using all mayo for the dressing. Then, while making the salad, I noticed some nice, golden delicious apples right there in a basket on the counter and decided, why not? So I sliced the apple, put about half of it on the plate and topped it with the salad. The apple was a very nice, and tasty compliment to the broccoli salad. I like throwing stuff like this together. Think it will be the same tonight, along with some grilled, boneless, skinless chicken .
