Hugs to your family. Hope things settle down at school for your son.
Thanks. I'm sure it will be fine once we get the hang of it, but he doesn't do well with changes to the routine and this is just...everything new. New building, new location, new kids (because we merged with another school), new route to school and having to ride his bike instead of walk, new teacher, and then his teacher not being here and having a sub indefinitely...it's too much at once and it stresses him out. Once we get settled in a new routine, I'm sure he'll be ok. He already has the new route down, so that's good. The school counselor/resource teacher said she saw him yesterday and he was completely in his own world and didn't know what he was supposed to do. The teacher gave too many instructions at once and he got overwhelmed and shut down and was just standing there, holding his bag to his chest with no idea what to do next. So she did explain to the teacher that you have to break it down into smaller steps for him...you can't just throw all that at him at once because he only hears the first bit and then he's focusing on that part and doesn't hear the rest. Anyway, it has made for a rough week so far and I just need a nap more than anything. I've gotten more than 10,000 steps in every day this week according to the cracker and I already have 4,458 today, so I think I'll get the steps in anyway, since I have to take him to therapy later. But I'm just not going to worry about it if I come short today. I don't have the extra energy.

I love the way you cook without measuring! Good for you! I have to really divide ingredients up in recipes for two. Lol
Thanks! You are a sweetheart!!:)
You're making me blush. James cooks the same way I a bit of this and a bit of that. I let him make the chili and ratatouille when he has the time to do so. Pixar movies are very educationalupload_2017-8-24_6-15-19.jpeg

It was good! I think I'll bump up the spices next time. If you hate cauliflower :)cautious:), you could put your favorite veggies in. I can't stand raw tomatoes. I'm always picking them out of sandwiches and salads. I like them cooked and I love them sun dried, but raw--no. :depressed:
Hate tomatoes:eek::eek::eek::eek: Have you tried any from a local farm stand? There's a big difference between real ones and the carp that gets sold in stores.

Morning. Today is going to be a lazy day...I'm so tired. DS woke me up at 3:30 this morning, having wet the bed, which he has never done before. So he took a shower and DH and I stripped his bed and I got to do laundry at 3:30 am. Thank GOD I didn't strip his bed yesterday as planned because I already had so much laundry, having found a bag of clothes I had been missing...that Hubby never unpacked while I was still in the US when my dad died.:banghead: And I also had a mattress protector on his bed, so at least the mattress was dry, even though everything else was soaked. Easy clean up. I think this week is too much for him, but he has his first therapy session today, so that's good.
{{HUGS}} and congrats. 10,000 is just a goal don't worry if you don't make it everyday as long as you get close to the weekly total you'll be fine.

Good morning I'm breaking today's workout into 3 parts. I spent some time with Leslie Sansone, as soon as things settle down I'm going to try a new Psychetruth HIIT and day 11 is a bedtime practice:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: Lunch will be salad with ginger carrot dressing and I'm still trying to decide between ratatouille with quinoa or chili for dinner. James has the afternoon free:D

Aw. Poor little guy. I hope he starts to settle in to his new routine and the therapy helps him. I am dreading the school year. Every year without fail, my son gets bullied. I think it's because he has Asperger's. He never tells us about it, it's always another student or a teacher who sees it. When we lived in London, he had two boys who tried to get him to drink a can of open soda that they put urine in. He didn't tell us until he knew he wasn't going back to this school in London. Another time, he was being bullied by a kid in his class. This kid told him if he told any one about it, he would kill my son and me. A teacher overheard that one and that kid was severely disciplined. This was in 5th grade, too.

Good morning!! Going to do some cleaning today because I have errands tomorrow and that is my cleaning day.
@figmentfan423 thank you for that recipe! It was delicious!
Dinner tonight will be late because DH is in meetings all day. Chicken, sun-dried tomato, and artichokes with whole wheat orzo.
Walking and yoga day. Everyone have a safe and happy day.

It's a textural thing for me. I love cooked mushrooms and I eat them a few times a week, but I hate the way they feel in my mouth raw. Tomatoes are like that for me. LOL
Isn't it interesting how everyone's tastes are different?
I love fresh, raw tomatoes. One of the simple pleasures of life for me, and something I look forward to each year, is the first fresh tomatoes right off the vine. I take a big, juicy tomato, slice it onto a couple of pieces of bread, slather it with mayo, sprinkle with salt and pepper and really savor that first tomato sandwich of the season.
Now, homegrown tomatoes are nothing like grocery store tomatoes, and I guess that is why I so look forward to the new crop every year. Still have a few that are ripening on the vine right now, and have some more my neighbor grows, so fresh tomatoes, tomato sandwiches and tomato biscuits for a little longer this year.
I also like to just slice them on a plate with some salt and pepper and have as a fresh side, three meals a day in season. Don't get tired of them at all.
And I did not even mention fried green tomatoes....yuuuummm.
I have a friend who hates mayo. I can't even imagine my tomato sandwiches without gobs of mayo...Duke's of course.

I made a really good side salad and enjoyed it so much that is all I had for lunch today. So, I guess that makes it an entree salad.
We tried this with thousand island dressing, ranch dressing and a vinaigrette dressing as well. My wife liked the thousand island and vinaigrette about equally, while I preferred the ranch. I have made this before using black beans, but tried red kidney beans this time. Next time I might use more beans, as the beans to cucumber and onion ratio seemed a little off.
Anyway, this was easy and very good if anyone would like to try it. I did not really measure stuff just chopped and put it in a bowl.
One can red kidney beans - drained
One large cucumber - chopped
Grape tomatoes cut in half
About 1/4 large Vidalia onion finely diced
Some diced pickled jalapeno peppers
Grated cheese
Black pepper to taste
Mix it all up in a bowl and serve dressing on the side. - So good!

Wow..I'm glad the school handled it!! A kid in my son's class in 1st grade told him he was going to kill him and his whole family and I called his mom and she laughed it off...said he probably learned it from video games and of course the kid denied ever saying such a thing, though he looked at the ground the whole time and wouldn't look at any of us. I've caught 2 kids 3 years older than my son slamming him against the wall and when I reported it, they said they'd make a note of it, and they made the instigator apologize the next morning...the same kid followed DS around on the playground a few weeks later, poking him and just intimidating him. Another parent saw it and reported it, knowing we had had problems with this kid before...nothing happened to him and the teacher it was reported to didn't know it wasn't a first offense, so they never "made note of it." DS has had his bag hidden, been pushed from the top of the slide, snapped with a towel (That one the teacher actually caught, but the child was not disciplined), spit on (by the same kid who snapped him with the towel, in the same week), tripped, slammed repeatedly against the wall, taunted, told he was going to be killed, kept from getting to his stuff (a couple girls just jumped around in between him and the coat rack so he couldn't get to it), Pushed to the ground and kicked (by the same girl who pushed him from the slide and hid his bag and kept him from his stuff), had a soccer ball kicked as hard as the kids can kick it at him on purpose...not once has the school done anything except talk to the kid and they always accept it when the kid says they didn't do it, or they didn't mean to. Well, when the kid says "Let's play a new game! It's called kick the ball as hard as you can at A.", it's a pretty good indicator that they meant to. I get so furious with the school. DS is 9 and in 5th grade, so he's the youngest in his class, and about half the kids in his class have been held back at least once, so they are all 2 years older than him. We just had him tested for autism and he apparently does not have it, even though he has a lot of similar behaviors. But he's "the weird kid" so he gets bullied constantly. I so hope this therapy helps!! How old is your son again? I'm thinking maybe I need to do some of that yoga @figmentfan423 is doing to keep the stress levels down.

:depressed: This whole post makes me cringe...can't stand tomatoes OR mayo. Tomatoes are fine when they are cooked, but I can't do raw0...they are so slimy and just...no. And mayo...just the smell is so sour and it feels all greasy. But then, I'm the zero condiment girl, so...
