Good morning! have I ever mentioned how evil Jillian Michaels is? I did lower body and abs, kickbox fast fix and finished out the hour with some Leslie Sansone. I'll be heading out for my relaxing walk when the bus leaves and with any luck have time for a nice short practice outside this afternoon(nothing structured) No pool today:mad::cold::coldfeet::cry::banghead:

I know people think the Disney Cruises are costly (and they are compared to other lines in the same class), but I think we get our money's worth on his fare with his food consumption. He orders 2 main dishes at dinner, raids the lunch buffet and tests the limits of room service.
Somebody asked me why we book buffets at Disney seeing they aren't cheap. All I could say was "have you met my boys?" One server told us she felt sorry for us after removing more than a few plates.

Hello--

Just finished my workout for the day. It was 15 minutes of bodyweight cardio, but by the time I added a warm up and cool down, it was closer to 30. I went for a 90 min. walk this AM, too. I might go for a post-dinner stroll with my husband later on, I'll see if he asks.

I have a bunch of Mexican ingredients/food in my house. So, I guess it's Mexican night here. Man, I miss the Mexican food back home. I used to have all of these mom and pop taquerias near me and I don't think there's a large Mexican population here like there is in the Chicagoland area. I found a restaurant, but it was like eating at Chi Chi's or El Torito.

Aw....yeah, I miss real Mexican food too. There was a place when I was in college that was owned by the family of a girl in choir with me. It was SOOOOO good and SO cheap. There's not a large Mexican population there, but this family is Mexican, so it was authentic and it was always PACKED. They closed a few years ago...I think the parents retired and the kids didn't want to do it anymore. So sad. Same thing happened to the Chinese restaurant there...I was sad about that, too...we'd go there and you get a MOUNTAIN of food. The cook spoke no English, but it was kind of a half-open kitchen, and she was always smiling and you could tell she just loved watching people enjoy her food. She'd wave and smile and we'd give her the thumbs up and she'd look so proud. Her daughter was the owner and she'd teach us a few words in Chinese. That's the nice thing about a college town, I think...so much variety and culture.

My whole day was like one long workout! I had to work today, so I rode my bike there, walked the entire time, then rode my bike home and had to hot foot it to the bus stop for DS's chess club, which turned into me herding cats...one of the teachers collapsed (diabetes) and I was the only parent still there and the 2 other teachers were needed, one to do first aid and the other to do the running back and forth, etc. So I had to jump in and babysit the kids who were scared and confused and stressed and now had nothing to do as they were in the middle of their exams and had to stop.

You deserve a nice relaxing warm bath after all that!

So @figmentfan423 it was vegetable night here in the south, with no meat in sight. Fried squash with Vidalia onion, fried cabbage, cole slaw, (cabbage and cole slaw at the same time...hey, why not?) tomatoes, roasted sweet potatoes and cast iron skillet cornbread. Yummy. I'm sure you would have steamed the squash or something more healthy than fried, but I like me some fried squash.
Anyway, just wanted to share with you our meatless Monday dinner served on Friday.

Hello--

It was cloudy all day today. I did go for a long walk and I took a different path. So, I live on a corner and there is no sidewalk on that side. I have two really large magnolia trees. I had been walking in the street and I was coming up to the corner where my house is and a stop sign. I typically don't go on that side of the house and I noticed there were massive magnolia blossoms on the tree. So I went up on the grass and I pulled down a branch to look a blossom. This woman in a car, who must have thought I was just a passer by, yelled at me. She said, "You shouldn't touch something that isn't yours." OMG, I lost it. I shouted, "This is my house and this is my tree!" <---clean version Yeah, no apologies were involved. She just made her left turn.

So, I also did a work out that was called "Strength and Tone." It was more of a recovery work out.

Yes, about college towns. When I was in my early 20s, I used to live in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, where the University of Illinois is located. Even though it was surrounded by corn and soy bean fields, it had so many different types of cuisines to cater to home sick, foreign students.

Wow, that's scary for small children. It's a good thing you were there.

Many years ago, one of my first jobs was a clerical position in a university. That area had a plethora of all kinds of ethnic foods. There were so many great places to eat (and many were cheap--catering to students with not a lot of money). It was like I discovered a whole world of eating adventures there!
