working out for Disney

Vent away! That's what we're here for. Did he take the offer? Where are you going? Good luck. Hopefully this will be the last move for a very long while.

He did negotiate a better offer for himself and he chose the NJ location. I am just getting frustrated that I feel like he's always getting his way and his career is always strategizing how to advance his career. I am feeling like the bad guy if I don't keep supporting him.

Sounds like a difficult situation either way. Good luck - prayers are being sent your way.

Thank you. It was very good. This is a thread about working out, but I post a lot more about trying to eat better than I do about working out. I think the two go hand-in-hand and, for me, I am under doctor's orders to eat better, and yes, to exercise too.
I just had my third child and final at forty. She really took a toll on my body so I need to do both, too.

A mostly meatless southern dinner. Soup beans and cornbread with cabbage and of course drizzled with hot sauce. No meat entree, but I did season the beans heavily with leftover Easter meal ham. Soaked the beans overnight then simmered them all day. Very tasty, very southern.

I have a ham bone left over from Easter, what all do you put in with the beans while they simmer?

After soaking one bag of dried beans overnight, I rinsed them good, drained then added the beans, eight cups of water, the ham bone, a bit of black pepper and just let them go on low in the crock pot for about nine hours. I did add a big pat of butter at the end. Very tasty and with the ham, they don't really need much more seasoning. So very good and comforting with cornbread. Will do this again when the fresh corn, onions, squash and especially tomatoes are abundant this summer. All go very well with soup beans (pintos).

For me, it is just setting my mind to it and making good decisions, no matter the temptation. Def doable!
There will be temptations. And sometimes I give in to them, but I consider it a treat instead of a failure. Had a bite of pecan pie Sunday and it had more sugar in it than I should ever eat. But, I think having a bite as a treat is better than total deprivation, and much better than the slice or three I used to eat.

Unfortunately, I am an all in or out type of person. Once I stop eating garbage, I don't even want it. How was the pecan pie? Good for you, for just having a bite!

It was very good but now that I have cut way, way back on sweets it was a little too sweet for me. Guess that comes with cutting out sugar. The cravings for sweets do go away, but I would not object to a big ole, gooey honeybun right now.

At various times over the years when I've dieted, I've had a bite or two of something deliciously decadent along the way. I felt it was a smart move if I was really craving it, because to continue to completely deprive myself would backfire--eventually, I'd just want to binge out on sweet stuff. Taking an occasional bite of some sweet dessert actually helped me keep on my target diet goal.

I hope your situation gets better in the future. And, you're not the bad guy by any stretch of the imagination.
