Great morning, it's always nice to wake up to great news! I did crunch fitness' bootcamp this am and got out and did 2 miles before the ice! Celebrating good news with a green smoothie with some berries! With all the bad weather lately I almost broke down and had a 2nd cup of coffee today, but now I don't need it! Lunch will be some hummus and veggies (made more than I thought) and dinner will be smashed cauliflower and veggie chili. Stay warm and safe and keep Disney dreaming!

Yayyyy!!!! I don't know anything else to say but yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! We are so proud!!:)

Thanks for the kind words. It was a good day. I knew weight was down a bit from last Dr. appointment three months ago, but 22 lbs was a nice surprise. I don't weigh often at home and had purposely stayed off our little bathroom scales for the past few weeks in anticipation of the big weigh in. Both the nurse and PA were quite thrilled when they updated my chart from the last visit.
Now I gotta just keep on track and slowly work toward more success. More walking, more eating better, that kind of thing. Soon I will be at 250 which still sounds like a lot, but three months ago I was sitting at 279 which is way close to 300. Now that the scales are going the other way, 240, then maybe 230. I think I will not shoot for much lower than 220 or so because I am fairly tall at 6'3" and big framed.
The reason I mention that is a few years ago I lost a lot of weight and got down to 198 and that was skinny looking for my frame. People thought I was sick...no, just lost a lot of weight. Unfortunately gained it all back with a few bonus lbs. to go with it.
Anyway, thanks again for the kind words and encouragement. It really helps when trying to stay motivated!

28...heat wave for you this crazy winter. Hit 70 here the past couple of days, but no worries, supposed to get cold again next week. Wife is putting in 13.1 miles Sunday morning. I get tired driving 13.1 miles...wish her luck. Oh, this year she is Snow White.
Your eating clean is inspirational, Figgy! As always, keep on keeping on!

My celebration meal...OK, to celebrate such a good Dr. appointment and weight loss, I decided to have some fried chicken and biscuits, just about my favorite meal. There is a place near us with the best crispy, crunchy fried chicken and really good sides as well.
On the way there I changed my mind. Realized I could celebrate just as well with a salad. Went home and had a nice mixed salad with back beans, some sautéed zucchini with onions and mushrooms and grilled chicken, and it was great.
Oh, I'm gonna treat myself to some fried chicken soon enough, but deciding I did not want it last night was another small victory, and the celebration meal we had instead was still very good!

Good morning I did Jillian Michael's Killer buns and thighs and 3 indoor miles. It's only 20 and I'm hoping to get out dressed as the tire guy later to do a couple of outdoor miles. The groundhog is going DOWN!!!!!! A super big thanks to @LuLaSue for getting me to do yoga because without it Killer buns might just have killed me LOL. A green smoothie with kale and berries for breakfast, my usual chopped veggies and beans for lunch (vegan 1000 island) and for dinner vegan gluten free pot pie (hoping the recipe works) Keep warm and safe and for Pete's sake please let it warm up!

Your meals sound very good, but how do you have the patience and willpower to be so diligent with your meals? My eating better seems a temporary change...yours is clearly a lifestyle.

Ugh- needing inspiration to get back on track. A stomach flu sidelined me for a while and then between full work days and DD5's softball schedule- I'm drained.
Looks like some great inspiration right there in your avatar.
I often feel depressed and struggle with the inspiration, especially when I just want a big greasy pizza and settle on a salad instead. I just try hard to keep reminding myself that it is as much for my wife as for me.

Thank you!!! It's not easy all the time, but my boys keep me honest, especially James. Checking in here also helps more than you can imagine. Knowing I have to log my exercise and food also helps. I also have a picture of a much heavier me on the fridge. I like the size I am now, I want to lose a few more pounds, but the most important #s are my bp 104/62, cholesterol 147 and my pants size, as long as they don't go up I'm on the right track. I know you can get where you want to be. Just remember your health is your most important asset. xoxo

What he said and get well soon.

Thanks guys! Really trying to keep the important things in perspective. At least I got some good news today...interviewed for a new position at work a couple of weeks ago and found out today I got the job. More motivation :)

Good morning! LOL It's only 14 out! Will winter ever end? Rant over, because I did 5 miles so far, not going out except for a short walk! The vegan pot pie was a big hit. My carnivores went back for 2nds and 3rds! I used my chicken recipe and changed the chicken to white beans and instead of the usual biscuit crust I substituted a low fat gluten free one. It's cold so some veggie soup for breakfast, a salad with ginger dressing for lunch and veggie minestrone for dinner. Did I mention it's COLD? Have a magical day and keep moving! xoxo

I know it sounds nuts, but I wish I had your cold temps. It's gross and muggy outside here. The pot pie sounds AWESOME!

Well, started to get back on track last night...30 min on the elliptical, then did triceps-biceps-shoulders, light hamstring and glutes work, some yoga poses, and 10 min of abs.
