Good morning LOL -4. We might just make it up to 32 by the weekend! How I hate the cold! JM's 30 day shred level 2 to start my blood flowing this am, I think it froze again and 2 indoor and one outside mile. Note to self see a shrink! I had to run something to a friend of mine and it was quicker to walk than go out and get the car going! Lots of soup today, it's just too cold for a smoothie, hopefully that will change by dinner time. Stay warm and safe and keep moving!

It doesn't help that DH buys a case of Diet Coke a week and we get free soda at work. So, I'm surrounded by soda much of the day. :banghead: I've been drinking a lot of water and am gaining a fondness for almond milk. Had a health scare at the beginning of the month, so I'm just trying to turn everything around. Bought a new elliptical sort of thingy, busted out all of the weights and bungees, and have been just trying to keep on track. I hear ya on the Little Debbie...we keep a Hostess stuff around the house since those are safe for DD7 and the Ho Ho's were calling to me the other night. I did not answer :D

We bought a new elliptical Friday. I wore our old one out and we both use it so when I broke it last week there was no question we had to get a new one. It was so heavy we had to open the box on the back of the truck then carry it inside a piece or two at a time. Then we put it together Saturday. That took more than four hours. That was a pain, but we did it. It is so much smoother and quieter than our old one. Here is the one we got...got it on sale, and much, much less expensive than the one we really wanted. Guess I'll wear this one out as well then buy the Precor I really want in a few years.

Nice! I think I even tested out one like that a while back. Really nice smooth motion. I'm always amazed at how heavy some of these machines are, but for whatever reason- I LOVE assembling them...which is good since I have an awful habit of killing them too. The one that really surprised me was the Bowflex treadclimber...for what they charge, I really expected it to last longer. Thankfully, that was a gift from a friend. I've probably been through 7 or 8 machines in the last 12-13 years. For that reason, I'm straying from conventional ellipticals this time and am trying a gazelle. So far so good :) My brother and SIL have a Precor and really like it. It's last for quite some time, but I also don't know how often they use it.

Good morning, I hope you're warmer than me! It only hit -1 this am. So 5 indoor miles done and another day of assorted veggie soups for me.
24 right now. -1 would freak me out. The little bit of snow we got will melt away in a few days. The memories of the major traffic jam in Atlanta will linger for awhile. The entire city was shut down and clogged. We were safely at home well north of the chaos. Some people still have not made it home. People up north must laugh at us southerners when we get snow and ice.
Oh, found some low carb tortillas the other day. Burritos and sautéed veggies tonight!

I guess that is a better goal than "dust it occasionally!" Thanks for the positive encouragement. As a generally negative thinker, planning to wear it out means I plan to use it a lot, and that is a positive thing.

The low carb tortillas are very good. I'm gonna try quartering some of them and baking them for chips. Worth a try. Still drinking mostly water and I really don't enjoy water. Have been drinking some Crystal Light type lemonade as well. It is pretty tasty, but I'm sure it is loaded with chemicals and artificial sweeteners, which I am trying to avoid by quitting the diet soft drinks. No diet Dew in almost a month now.
OK, I'm rambling...anyone with ideas for healthy drinks (no alcohol please) to replace the much missed and craved diet soft drinks? Thought about one of those Soda Stream things, but you still gotta add chemical flavorings to the fizzy water.

Sparkling water with a bit of citrus juice (lemon, lime, orange) fresh of course! Just add a pinch or 2 of stevia if you think it needs it. Good luck going chemical free.

Hello-

Just checking in with everyone. I have been doing my DVDs. I've been revisiting ones I've not done in a while or have only done once. I'm enjoying that. I am also still booze free since NYE. I've lost 5 lbs. since giving it up. :)

Hey, everybody! I got a work out first thing this morning. I went to let the dog out, and the snow drifted up against the back door. About 6 inches shoveled (not including some higher drifts), and it keeps coming. (I am so ready for tis to stop). At this rate, I should be shoveling again soon.
