Congratulations! Yay you! I am right there with you at 24 days, but I quit drinking soft drinks, don't drink booze at all but I'm guessing it is harder to quit than Coke Zero or Diet Mtn Dew. Wow, I really want a Dew, but not gonna give in.

Yeah, I gave it up for a month because a) it was hitting it hard over the Holidays and b) I always tend to snack after a few glasses of wine, so I am drinking and eating extra calories. I found myself doing these crazy-intense workouts to compensate for the wine drinking, but your body adapts! LOL
Plus, you metabolize booze before fat, so I was doing these high intensity work outs and not losing weight. I have lost a few lbs. from quitting the vino.

Congrats on not having any diet pop. That's a tough thing to quit as well. Good for you for not giving into the siren song of a Diet Mountain Dew! My husband opened a bottle of red wine last night and I wasn't even tempted. I am insanely stubborn and I am determined to see January through without wine or booze. :)

Yay us! :D

So, yeah my workout.

I tried this Ballet workout, which I totally underestimated. At first, I was like, "OMG. This is lame. Imma take this out and put real workout in." It is not a calorie scorcher, nor would I call it a "party in a box." But I gave it a chance and then, the bridge/outer thigh section started...

Oh.
My.
Gosh.

This burned my butt, inner and outer thighs so badly. It never let up and I am pretty sure I had an outer body experience from the pain. My left eye lid started twitching and I started laughing hysterically. I don't think I'll be able to walk tomorrow (or at the very least, sit down). But it was awesome and I can't wait to do it again.

Not to laugh at your pain, but this did make me giggle. I commend you for trying it again though. :)

Hello-

I was not feeling that great this week, so I've not worked out since Sunday. But tonight I came back and I came back with a vengeance. :) I did 45 minute Tabata workout. The Tabata protocol is 20 seconds of pushing yourself/10 seconds of rest. About 10 minutes of it was warm up and cool down. But I am now flying high from my post-work endorphin rush that I get from high intensity workouts.

Also, I am 24 days into not having any booze. Yay me! *golf claps*
WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, no I really mean it today! LOL I did JM's 30 day shred and I can't believe it, it's up to 26 already and climbing. Time to bust out the shorts and flip flops o_O Only kidding but at least it will be warm enough to get out around my lake today. Fleece leggings sweat pants, 3 pairs of socks, tank, long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt and my heavy coat not to mention 2 pairs of gloves, ear warmers and a hat and hood and I should be ok before the artic front comes in later today. I HATE WINTER!!!!!!!!!! A mean green smoothie to start the day, chopped fruit and veggies with quinoa and an orange ginger dressing and for dinner pea soup and salad. Stay warm and safe and keep moving it will help keep you warm.

Dress in layers...yeah, that's the ticket. Sounds like you have the layering thing under control, but can you move under all that? I'd looked like a weird, old Michelin Man! Stay warm...As I get older, my tolerance to cold decreases every year.

Hello-

Checking in with a DVD called Tonique: Born to Move. Another painful and boring workout, it was over an hour of multi-directional lunges. I was a total sweaty mess when I was done. The only thing that was kind of a let down about it was you work one leg for just about 35 minutes, then the other, so you can't really break it up if you are short on time.

I am getting ready to watch Splendor in the Grass. I love this film and I've not viewed it in a while.

Stay warm everyone, my son had today and has tomorrow's classes cancelled. Roll on, Wednesday!

Good morning, LOL @epcotisbest, @disneysince71, and @93boomer stay safe with that nasty storm heading your way! It's cold up here -3 and the boys are on another delayed opening.:mad::mad::mad: I can't seem to get as much done as I wanted so far this week. oh well 5 indoor miles done and I'm not going out today except to get the mail. If it ever warms back over 50 the first thing I'm going to do is go for a really long walk 8 or 10 miles. Later I'm going to do Yoga Works beginner's practice, nothing special but it really helps me get my form where I want it. o_O Veggie soup to start the day, a berry and green smoothie for lunch (I might be warm enough to have one by then) and some type of soup and salad for dinner, still trying to figure out what to put in it. Stay warm and safe and keep moving!

I feel your pain. Gave up diet soda - hopefully for good this time. I didn't go cold turkey right at New Year's, but I've been diet soda free since Jan 4th. I really want a Diet Coke or Diet Dr Pepper, but staying strong :)

Yeah, I want a Coke Zero or a Dew so bad. I have been told the cravings will subside, but not so far. Been drinking a lot of water and some lemonade. Stay strong...we can cut them out. Have not had one in almost a month now. I gave up Little Debbies a couple of years ago. I realllllllllyyy miss her.

It doesn't help that DH buys a case of Diet Coke a week and we get free soda at work. So, I'm surrounded by soda much of the day. :banghead: I've been drinking a lot of water and am gaining a fondness for almond milk. Had a health scare at the beginning of the month, so I'm just trying to turn everything around. Bought a new elliptical sort of thingy, busted out all of the weights and bungees, and have been just trying to keep on track. I hear ya on the Little Debbie...we keep a Hostess stuff around the house since those are safe for DD7 and the Ho Ho's were calling to me the other night. I did not answer :D
