Have I told you lately that I πŸ‘ you?
I ended up getting caught by the rhyming game today. Although, I could easily blame it on the stomach bug that hit me in the middle of the night.

It was a tough one for sure! I don’t remember them using words like this until a few months ago (taking a four letter word and slapping an -r, -s, or -d to it), I think it takes out a bit of the strategy and makes it more of a guessing game when they do that

I agree. I'm not a fan of the suffixes. It's started happening ever since they started having a real person choose the words. Before I think the algorithm was coded not to include prefixes or suffixes.

The original coding had answers mapped out through 2027! You're right about things changing with the new editor, apparently: "On November 7 2022, the NYT stopped following the original order of words. Puzzle editor Tracy Bennett will be in charge of selecting words that are β€˜fun, accessible, lively and varied’." So, now we know who to blame :cautious: ;)

EDIT: Since they aren't using the original list anymore, I did a quick search, my starting word would've originally finally come up in just a few more weeks on March 26 :banghead:
