Now I’m looking for the link explaining Coco and the UK attraction but no luck yet. ;):p:D:eek:o_O:happy::hilarious:

i was thinking, like 15 minutes after we made coco, was like wow that would be sooooooo perfect in the seas pavilion because mexico has a lot of coastline and JUST FEELS RIGHT - that's probably why we we're animators actually because of figment in spaceship earth... OHMAHGERD SOOOO FITTTTTSSSSSSSSSS

WondersOfLife

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
It would have been nice if they had just.. You know... Never shut it down in the first place. Just kept things updated with the times. Updated the film for CC and BW, ride tech, a 4D experience in the center to replace all of those tiny theaters, update the interactive exhibits, add some meet and greets... It was such a huge space with so much to do.

Most of my EPCOT childhood was spent in this building. My parents LOVED it. It was quiet, and there were no lines anywhere (Probably because when I went, it was between 2004-2007). My sister and I would spend hours and hours in there watching Cranium Command and riding Body Wars over and over again. We would eat Wonder Waffles at least twice! I think I'm one of the VEEERY few 90s kids out there that can say they experienced Wonders of Life in its entirety.. As a kid, I LOVED it SO MUCH. While it did help that I practically had the whole building to myself, I bet if they had just kept things updated and not put everything in that pavilion on the back burner, it could have maintained its popularity perfectly fine.

But NOOOOOOOOOOO. :/

In the world of development, it often is economically unfeasible to demolish buildings unless taxpayer subsidies in the form of TIF financing are approved. Even then, the costs to demolish can be so outrageous that it often makes more sense to retrofit (just ask the city of St. Paul).

Disney is a different beast, though, so I digress. I just had to put my preservationist hat on for a moment. :)
It can really go either way. It all depends on the existing building, it's condition, what the new usage will be, etc. Throw in historical preservation societies, zoning, impact fees and you really have a hornets nest.

There is also the option of a partial demolition which skirts a lot of the issues. It is not that uncommon to see a large commercial development go up that is classified as a remodel where they just use the corner of an existing building.

In the end, it often comes down to cost. Nine times out of the less expensive quote is the one that wins. Of course, in 23 years the only time I have see a major remodel that was actually a remodel ever come in at or under the quote is when it was way overbid.:)

It would be interesting if anyone actually has a list of all of the wonderful, free standing attractions that were scattered throughout the pavilion. The only specific one that I remember was a stationary bike mounted in front of a screen that would mimic the same speed as you pedaled.

Time will tell, but the lack of use of this awesome building is sad. I really hope that at the very least, it will become a guest building again, even if it is a shell of its former self.

If what we're saying is what I think we're saying and WoL will be revived with Inside Out used, I'm going to give this another #JimMacPheeMagic, this makes 3 in my book!
(once again, I know nothing....but since his promotion, these rumors seem smarter and more logical so it must be Jim....#itmustbejim).

Im fairly sure Inside Out has not been confirmed and is only rumor on these boards.

Just want to throw this out there... When you use 2 dozen emoticons in every post, they are a distraction to whatever comment you typed prior within the same post. Not trying to pick on you, just being honest. Maybe consider toning it down a bit.
