Thank you for reminding that this is a forum on the possible demo of a building begging for a mercy killing imo. :)
Yeah I think it’s time to take it out of its misery. It’s a fun building but if they want to go all out, a full rebuild is most likely necessary at this point. I’m still hoping we can get the obvious health pavilion back with Inside out and big hero 6

But the point is irrelevant as we are still talking about science fiction and I do believe that it can be plausible in an optimistic world with currently agreed on science for aliens to exist somewhere out there, with the scientific reason we haven't found them being they are simply too far, which is backed in the actual attraction as the "science".

You still don't seem to get the difference between the PLOT -- and the THEME or message the story is telling or leaves the audience with... and in the case of Future World, what tied it all together. Or what ties something like a World Fair together.

Don't you remember from school when you were in English class and assigned to read a book and analyze it? The teacher didn't want you to simply describe what happened in the book, you are being taught to recognize the structure and purpose of the elements.. not just memorize what happened.

The problem with Cosmic Review in your argument is the story there is purely for entertainment - just like the films.. It's a 'save the universe from the bad guy' story. There is no takeaway from it beyond "hey, this coaster is fun!". They use fake technology and science to try to fake it into an EPCOT piece... but none of that leads to real connections for the audience.. it's all staging. The literal story elements they put in it, the museum, the portals, etc.. they are just elements to set the staging and facilitate the conflict and path to resolution between you and the bad guy. And that's why I pointed out they could be anything they made up... the type of story they went with still boils down to 'you and super heroes try to save the planet from bad guys'. The 'showcase' etc is just stuff to try to make it look like it should fit in EPCOT -- but at it's core, it never fit with what Future World was because it's purpose and theme of it's takeaways have absolutely nothing to do with the original Future World.

The Expanse and Guardians are both Science Fiction... but they tales that are nothing alike because one is about exploitation, inequality, and consequences... a form of sci fi soap opera.. while the Guardians movies are more a character journey about family, redemption, and friendship.

This is not something you compare by physically comparing the sets or locales.

taking a break last night I saw the "Gemini" map again...it seems like they were planning to demolish it way back then (22+ years ago).

What I'd like to know is how far along was the development of Time Racers. What type of roller coaster would this have been? Glad it didn't actually happen, but the idea fascinates me.

It is about as “forested” as any of the 2017+ plans ever implied, with the obvious exception that trees can’t replace buildings that were never knocked down.
I've still been hoping that, since I first saw the (lackluster) photos of "World Celebration's" hub, that, in-time, it could become a nice canopy of sorts? 😬 🤷‍♂️

I am assuming it was not that far into development because any sane engineer would tell you it's literally impossible. Ironically as much as I hate the concept of GOTG:CR. Energy is FAR preferable to be replaced over Spacehsip Earth especially the Ellen incarnation.

We'd have to flatten everything in the parks like they just flattened TSI if we consider everything that could remotely or hypothetically offend anyone...and even THAT wouldn't be enough.
I honestly think that may have been THE reason TSI was flattened or at least a major factor in the decision along with the other obvious reasons. (Accessibility, popular IP, Lightning Lane purchases etc.)

Fun fact: this was Bill Farmer’s first major project as the voice of Goofy. Before that it was mainly minor things like DTV specials and things like that.
Seeing Prince & Pauper in the theater a year later was the first time I consciously appreciated that generation of "Fab4" voice actors, as I had just-previously learned the history of their voices the year prior. I thought they all did a great job. However, it wasn't until many years later that I learned the mid-1930's voice of Clarabelle Cow (particularly in 1935's Mickey's Fire Brigade) voiced her one last time for that 1990 featurette 🤯

Agreed and my hope too. Why not simply revitalize the pavilion the way we’d hope, with new attractions mixed with old ones simply enhanced with today’s tech and maybe some new elements or spfx depending on the show or attraction. PS: who here would like to see Cranium Command make a comeback, original show restored and have an additional alternate Inside Out themed show where Buzzy’s assigned by General Knowledge to pilot Riley’s head or something, assigned to work with her emotions. That’d be fascinating, right? Just sayin’.. and that’d be nice cause Pete Docter was involved with both and it wouldn’t be coming at the expense of the original show then. One of the great things about multimedia shows of that type.

Imagine a world where we got Rocket Rods 2.0 in Spaceship Earth with the exact same track but going through all the show scenes super fast.

I had thought it was pretty much Cosmic Rewind Sans the IP..
Your jumping thru space, Going thru Time, And racing to get back to earth..
