Why do you care? If you were happy doing your own thing, why would you care about this? Some folks are in it for the "art" or the "message" or whatever they like to say and some people want to get rich and famous. Everyone’s dream is different.

I personally don't believe too many "artist" when they say they don't care about the money and fame. If that was the case then they shouldn't care when other folks get rich and famous even if the person "making it" isn't as talented as those who don't.

I'm a musician, but I didn't go that route to make a living. I love playing music as long as it's not my "job". When it becomes your "job" then to me it's not fun anymore. Believe me, I'm totally out of practice and I'm still better than a lot of the folks I hear on the radio, but I don't begrudge them.

I'm sorry if I offended you, it was not my intention. I just get tired of hearing other musicians who haven't made it criticize those who have. I hear it a lot around hear. Must be a southern thing. :lol:

I can't say until he posts again but I get the impression he's not criticizing. When Dan does sell out, I'll be the first one in line for my Deadstar beach towel :lol:

LoL..i wasnt saying it in a bad way...i just found it funny.

There IS a big difference however between selling out, and selling in general. I personally am not against selling your songs to use in commercials/movies etc (hell..we have a seperate licencing company just for that with my band)...but i AM against bands doing custom jingles etc. That just reeks of desperation.

...deadstar beach towels..hmmm..thats an idea:D

I would buy their CD or beachtowel now (ok, next payday) if I knew where to get it. Hint, Hint. I didn't really think Dan was complaining, that's why I made sure to apologize (twice) so he knew I wasn't trying to be mean or anything.

Now about that CD. ( I really don't want a beach towel :lol: )
