Wl Construction?

Can anyone confirm or deny that the WL is slated to be under construction throughout the month of August. If it is, how bad is this rehaul supposed to be?

Not construction, refurb.

When we were there in March the scaffolds were up and the pool was closed (since re opened). The painting is taking place, but I think (but, don't hold me to it) that the room re dos are over.

The AKL is undergoing some major construction though.

Hmm...so, If I were going in late August with a 1st time visitor, do you think that there will be enough refurb going on that it will take away from the beauty of the place. Or should it be relatively quiet around that time? Thank you for your help.

You should be fine. When we were there they were painting out back (facing Fort Wilderness) and working on the pool. We never heard a thing and we were on the 6th floor nearby. Even with the scaffolding up the place will take your breath away. Just walk into the lobby and watch their faces.

Painting when we were there. I'm pretty sure just about all of the room refurbs are done...new rugs, paint and furniture.

I thought most of the major refurb was done, and now it's kind of a room-by-room overhaul. Anyone know otherwise?

I'll find out in Aug., but I doubt that any refurb. going on would take away from the WL experience. When we were at the Poly. 2 years ago, they were in the middle of the big refurb., and it didn't bother us at all.

The scaffolding was already up in November last year. They should be coming close to completetion soon.

I'm nervous the pool will not be in use, as well as worried that the 1st impression she has of the lobby will not be the same that I had of "wow". I visited the swan and dolphin during its refurb last year and it was awful to show a 1st timer. Ladders, tarps, cherry pickers and "pixie" dust everywhere

Why would the pool not be in use. It reopened in late March and there is a second pool by the villas (smaller, quiet pool).

What would be different about the lobby? Nothing has changed there in years, if at all.

The refurb was to the rooms (new paint, carpet and furniture) and thats all done (as far as I know).

Ok...if that is the case then life is good. I just had this terrible image of when I walked into the S&D and the whole joint was undergoing extreme makeover resort edition. Thank you for all of your help.
