If they could build a better KUKA Arm system that would work well and not have as many problems, they could do a lot. I mean, someone mentioned a nemo ride with it. That would have been fun! They could have you right in the sets with coral and animatronics. Also Disney probably would have put screens in with the real sets to put a depth to it and not just leave dark splotches between sets and animatronics and video. <-- You just can't do that and that's why I think the FJ kind of failed. It seems like they did that.

Also, does it not seem that Disney knew that Uni would take the KUKA Arm and see how it worked. If it worked well, figure out a way to get it and then glorify it for themselves?

No, they didn't. The ride has screens and physical sets intermingled, and great transitions.

Well, color me impressed at this effort. I was thinking from early reports that TFJ was primarily video screens similar to Simpsons. Knowing now that Universal really swung for the fences with set pieces and animated characters, pepper's ghost illusions and other effects really changes my initial feelings. Even if it's not perfect, it is really cool that they shot so high.

So you have to be 54 inches, and less than 250 lbs? At least the lines will be shorter.

FJ kind of failed??? What on Earth are you talking about. All of the reports aside from this one are saying this thing is freaking unbelievable. Go read the report on the OrlandoSentinel. They say it is beyond anything done thus far at Disney or Uni. Also, you want to talk about "dark splotches"...go ride Dinosaur to see how Disney handles that.

Nonono, where the subject where the arrow pointed seems where it kind of failed. I've been reading reviews to and each have different reactions. Some people love it and others say that it could have been better, I know. It seems from what I know is that there are some blotchy spots where they left it kind of dark moving from set to screen to animatronic. Trust me I'm sarcastically peeing my pants to ride it. It just seems there are little splotches in there. Nothing big, just nit picky me.

Heights 48 inches I believe and from what I read, it's not 250, you just can't be too big for the bar to come down on you.

Just watched the ride video on YouTube, horrible quality so much of it is hard to make out. Can anyone give specifics as to the near inversion mentioned in the review? Wondering if this will be too intense for a 10 and 12 year old.

Imagine laying flat on your back, similar to the start of Mission Space at launch if you have been on that. Shouldn't be a problem at all for kids.

The article posted here is almost the same as the one that was printed in the actual Orlando Sentinel paper that I read at home. That was where I read it. This version seems somewhat truncated...particularly this line as I remember it saying that it surpassed them all or was so much more.

"The ride experience resembles a cross between IOA's classic Spider-Man ride, Soarin' at Epcot and even an ultramodern version of Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion."

Thanks, they have been on Mission Space, at least the tamer version offered, so it shouldn't pose a problem I guess. Is there a claustraphobic feeling like MS? In all honesty, MS made me a little whoozy. Maybe I won't be able to ride it!

You're not enclosed in anything, as far as I know, and the ride is basically like a dark ride/roller coaster where the car can move in almost any direction.

I don't think it should at all be too bad for a 10 or 12 year old, but as with anything, it's all about how much they can really take. It was at about that age or younger that I started going on many bigger rides.
