This is the first year in the last 5 that we havent visited Orlando, I hope we will visit next year, but this is the time of year we normally go and I'm feeling really blue and missing the place terribly (is that really sad??) I have this ache inside - guess it's the withdrawl of the disney love!.....and yes I do cry on the first visit each year to MK - the sight of the castle and main street.

Anyway I've tried to cheer myself up by visiting this forum heaps everyday, I also visit the official 'disney' site, so my question is any ideas to help me or do I need psyciatric help?!

What do you do when your missing the 'world'?

Thanks guys:(

Im missing Disney and I havent even taken my trip yet!
I come on this board all the time and it just keeps the excitement going. I look at all the pictures and trip reports and it keeps the magic alive for me.
If I were you, I would book a trip ASAP!!!!

Withdrawals

Helen, my dear you are not alone:animwink: I use this website as my daily fix until I can get there.

I am the same way and our trip is not until May 07. Another 218 days:cry:
Last night during Boston Legal I saw the new commercial for the Year of a Million Dreams, and I started crying.....

So I have been visiting this site every day, looking at photos of our previous trips, we haven't been since 99, so I know there is a lot of new stuff and I need to get caught up on all of the new things going on at the world. We had plans for a trip in 2003 but my mother became ill and passed away.

I have been planning this trip since June, already made all my ressies, got my Disney Guide books and have highlighted all the new things for my Kids and grandson, ordered the Disney planning DVD, I watched that the other day with the grandson, he calls it the Disney Movie and will cry everytime I see the promos on tv and the minute we get there and are standing on Main Street, heck before that, the minute we see the sign on the road I will be a bubbling mess.

So I think we all need a little counseling (aka a trip to the world for a good dose of the magic)

So if you can plan a trip for next year and start the magic planning :sohappy:

One other stupid thing I do - almost daily - check the weather forecast for Orlando and the exchange rate! Don't know why just make me feel a bit better lol

You can always do what I did... buy a place down there so you can go more often! We joked that in May our biggest Disney souvenir was a townhouse! LOL Now I get to "talk" Disney with people nearly every day...and help people plan their trips! I also do a lot of surfing the web on sites like this, and working on my own website as well.. using all of the 100s of pictures we've taken to make it better! Seems like we just went...then we're going all over again!! On my yahoo home page there's a "fare tracker" feature that's pretty neat too....it keeps showing round trip tickets to Orlando from Chicago at $123 lately...that's so cheap! I'm thinking of just popping down there for a long golf weekend or something even this winter if I can find an open slot in our place! LOL

I'm missing Disney badly. Our last trip was in May, but it doesn't look like there will be a trip in the near future:( . When ever I think of the fun we had, it just feel the "need" to be back there.. Knowing I can't be there makes me sad, but I just keep visiting here and looking for deals so I can convince my husband that we can afford to go back:)

I read your posts and thought what the heck! I'm about to book a trip - never mind the cost!!

I'm going to book 4 nights at AKL (as part of of the trip), my next question is - if I book a standard room through the UK tour operator how can I get a cheap - or better still fee upgrade to a savannah room? Or whats the cheapest way for someone in the UK to book rooms at Disney??

Thanks so much everyone:kiss:

Next trip 8th November!!!:sohappy:

Let's see, since Aug. of 05 to Nov. of this year we will have been to WDW 5 times. Whenever we go through withdrawels we have plenty of video's and pic's to bring us back. But we always have our trips planned, and always have something to look forward to.

To keep me sane, so that i never miss the world i:

1) Listen to Walt Disney World music
2) Look at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot park maps
3) Look at pictures from the world
4) Watch online videos

I think thats about it.

After our first trip in '01, DS and I have been either to the World or DL every year but one. That one year was just a series of coincidental bad timings and I just couldn't coordinate a trip. I go into a level of withdrawal as soon as we arrive back home.

We're heading down in February '07, this time we got APs with the intent to use them again slightly earlier the following February. Then my ex-In-Laws called to say they're staying in Davenport January to April and we could stay with them. With what that's saving us, I did the math and added a trip in June '08 and another in August '08. Suddenly we have four trips within the year our APs are valid! :sohappy: I'm even saving enough to be able take the ex-In-Laws to Epcot for the day and dinner at Le Cellier as a repayment for putting us up while we're there. :D

My real withdrawal pains will start in '08...

Helen, I am feeling the same thing here! Its nice to know I'm not a complete nut. I've got company!:p :p

I usually come to this web site and some other Disney web sites several times a day. I listen to the park music often at uabmagic.com or stuff I have on my own computer.

Oh, I tape things on my tv about Disney too... and then watch them over and over.

  I think I need help!!!

My next trip is December 2007. Unless I meet someone before then and can talk him into taking me. :animwink:

I know exactly how you feel. When we are not there, I spend all of my free time planning our future trips and "studying" Disney history. My husband and I have almost every CD and DVD Disney ever made. No one understands why we go to Disney so often. Most people I encounter think that it is a place you take your kids to once. We live Disney everyday in my house and that keeps us happy until our next trip. I thank God daily for our ability to visit so often.

Things I like to do when I am missing the world is:
1. Visit this site. It is awesome to see so many people that are excited about the Disney.
2. Visit the official WDW site. I wish they would update the site every week so I would have new things to look at.
3. Google anything Disney and WDW. Just reading all the info out there on the topic is amazing.
