With EE comes AK full service dining?

Actually, I think you have that statement wrong. The park is open until 6 or 7, except when they have EMH, and then it's open until 9 or 10 depending on the day.

If you notice the operating hours for July for Animal Kingdom. The park closes at 6 pm everyday except for Tuesday when it closes at 10 pm.

I say bring in Downtown Disney's never-built nighttime lake show: "Noah's Ark", they could put it in Discovery River.

I have never heard of that, can you tell me about it?

I hope with new additions, that DAK will be open later, it doesnt have to be open to 11 or 12, but 9 and 10 (on a regualr basis) would be nice. I love the theming at DAK, with new attractions it might be my favorite park.

No restaurant of any kind is the plans for the Everest area right now. But if you sit in the tables at Flame Tree near the water, you will have a view of Everest.

and now youve gone and told everyone :zipit: :animwink:

DAK does have the best collection of quick-service food/restaurants on property. High quailty food that tastes great.

Plus, they take the DDE card all over AK because of the no-sit-down thing. :D

Amen! 20% off at the Flame Tree is a blessing. We loved using the DDE card this trip for the first time (Non Local AP). We've already saved enough to pay for the card and we'll get two more vacations out of it.

Ya, I dunno. I'm a huge fan of sit down meals. In fact, every day we spend in Disney is done up with a full service lunch and dinner. It's just when it's time for us to go to Animal Kingdom one day, we are forced to dine outside the park (usually at Boma in AKL). I'm sure all the counter serve meals are excellent, but when you have been running around in the heat and sweat all day, it's nice to relax and have someone serve you.

I do believe that Disney would have a hard time finding and keeping quality restaurant cast members at a good "lunch only" sit-down restaurant.

Most waitstaff make much more money from tips at dinner than at lunch.

It's true that AK has the best counter service restaurants. Tusker House is a most in every AK visit for us! We always go there. I find it very pleasant to be able to eat salmon, veggies and rice for a fair price for lunch.

Well we just have to encourage more WDWMagic usesr to take lunch as judging by the threads theres so many big tippers it will make up the shortfall in no time. Sorry i should quantify that, there parents are big tippers. :drevil:

I never even noticed that till you said it! Now I get to take another $10 off my Disney budget - whoo hoo!

I definitely think AK needs a sit down restaurant, even if it was only open for lunch. I liked Donald's breakfast, but I would like a place to go for lunch.

They're hurting themselves by not building full service restaurants. I was just down there and even in July, discovered we were able to do virtually everything by noon. I just can't imagine spending an entire day at Animal Kingdom.

Sometimes I wonder if that isn't part of the plan. Keep DAK & The Studios from being full-out all-day parks to keep people shelling out the extra sheckles for the park-hopping option.

I thought the Rainforest Cafe had some sort of contract that they would be the only sit-down restaurant at the AK. I always thought that is why there are no sit-downs in the park.

At one time that was the rumor, however the rumor was that was only for the first 5 years. Regardless they can and will add full service restuarants in the next few years. After Everest opens they will begin to extend the parks hours and eventualy have the need for full service restaurants.

what is that? never heard of it.

I did a search on Wdw Magic, and one person said it was an Andrew Llyod Weber show for MGM..that is all I could find. Keep in mind it was late last night, so I might have missed a few things.

I've never figured out how some people think MGM is a half day park. If someone is able to see all the rides and shows at MGM in one day, then I will bow down to their greatness

It takes us 2 days to do MGM, just like the MK and Epcot. The only thing about MGM is that there aren't as many shopping options, which takes less time compared to MK and Epcot.

Maybe they could get Andrew Lloyd Webber to write a "Phantom of the Kingdom" show!
