Then should P, for peasant, go?
No, I like peasants, they're, well, pleasant!

Then should P, for peasant, go?
I think I get what you're saying.See, I have no idea what you just said.
But...
Ian...EEEin.
If you pronounce Ann the way I do, it sounds somewhat, but not exactly like that.
I do not pronounce Ann as I do the verb "can".
Yup, same here.Back in the day (meaning, last year...) I was trained for Forensic performances.
Most accents come easily to me, British (London and Cockney? I think) and Irish.
I pronounce Ian the way you do, but Ann rhymes with can (the verb or the noun)
Then should P, for peasant, go?
I think Ann and Can sound a more alike than Ian and Ann.
I think I get what you're saying.
We pronounce Ian the same way.
But not Ann.
We pronounce it like the noun and verb "can."

Actually we say "ken" for the verb sometimes, but I don't because I'm that good!

Right they do.
But Ian has that flat sound that we give to vowels that other people don't. And when you pronounce Ann with the lax "A" it almost, but not quite, sounds like that.
