Has anyone done this recently? Just wondered opinions on it. The price is really steep now at $80 per person, but since I found an opening we grabbed it to try something new. Just wondering you if all think its worth the money and how the set up works? Ive read some comments saying you do have a reserve table, others say you don't. The reserve time is 7pm so I guess that means we need to show up by 6pm? Thank you

Holy ravioli, Batman! $80pp is unbelievable. Back when it was 25-30, it was sorta worth it. Moreso for the table and the lack of hassle with a good view of the castle than for the food. Without some special reason, like a wheelchair or little kids, I don't think I could justify this price for the experience.

I did for my 40th birthday in October. The desserts were good and definitely bring your appetite. For me, I wanted a nice little birthday dessert before Wishes on my birthday and did not want to fight crowds for a place to view Wishes. My focus was to have a place in the gardens to view Wishes with my family. So for that reason, it was worth it.

We use to do this every trip. We no longer will. It used to be only $25-30 as stated above but has increased just a "little" in price!
More importantly, we did do it on our trip last April (2016). The reason you see different answers about reserved tables is that it has indeed changed.
The real draw for us was that we could continue to do things right until the last minute and still have a great place to see the fireworks. No longer.
It has been changed to non-reserved tables, first come first served. Which means arriving over an hour before the fireworks to get a good seat. So it no longer saves us time. AND, and this is a biggie, AND they have added tables in the back and you cannot stand up near the rail any longer to watch the show. So when you arrive and are assigned a table under the overhand (about 1/3 to 1/2 of the tables) you cannot see the fireworks. I saw multiple groups request and be given a refund and leave when they realized where their table was.
It no longer holds any value for us...............let alone an $80 each value!!

No it's a waste of money but if you want to do it as a one off treat to celebate a birthday/anniversary or whatever and it's something you want to do then go for it I guess but otherwise no I would never pay for -any- of these useless money grabbing upcharge private parties.

yeah, I have done this party and I'm mad.
we were actually there pretty early and still brought to a table under the overhang and seated there. We looked at each other, looked at the open tables near the front and just up and moved. So we had good seats........nothing said we had to stay where they put us. Very aggravating

Thank you to all for your comments, needless to say I have canceled, it sounds like a ripoff esp to be stuck at some far back table. Unless its a special birthday or something like that maybe as a one time thing it may be fun doing, but just not worth the money to me it sounds like at this time.

before they started this event, we'd get there a little early & grab a good table to watch the show. naturally, other people did too. guess disney got wise to it.

The promo photos make me laugh..

Disney tries to make out that you are in some open air area with a perfect fireworks view from all tables which is downright deceptive. There's a giant roof over your head meaning most tables can't even see the fireworks and most people aren't aware of this and so get ripped off. Might as well grab some cakes from the bakery and a nice drink and join the rabble on Main Street.

We did this last Weekend. IMHO it's so not worth it. We left feeling suckered. They had two buffett style lines, with a short table. After about 20 minutes, they combined the lines into one table. Then after 30-40 minutes they close the food entirely. All of the food is bite size and pre-made frozen type. We stood in line 20 minutes just to get something. Some of it was ok, but nothing was great. Due to the lines and time you can't make more than two trips. We figured out we paid about $5 per bite. Also, we had a "garden view" table. We found out that this meant an escort out to the royal garden for the show. While it's nice to be able to sit on the grass, there are definitely better places to see the show.

The DH and I did it back when it was $65 a person. We were seated in a front table which was nice when we got there and while we ate but just before the fireworks started everybody from behind us came up and lined the railing. In the end we were glad we at least tried it but agreed we would not do it again. Now the desert part in HS looks like it might have a little better layout. There was no ceiling and you were right in front. We did not do it on the last trip but did check out the area and it looked pretty solid.

We just did it in February. I paid a lot for 5 people, reserved it as early as possible, got there an hour before time, and expected at least a good view. To me the chance to view the fireworks in full view in a comfortable uncrowded setting was worth my admission. The rest of the crew wouldn't appreciate the view as much as I did but the whole theme would be right up their alley. Food was okay and it was there for the duration, no complaints there. It was like looking at the fireworks and castle display through a tree with binoculars. Obstructed view and one upset patriarch who footed the bill.

We did this this week because I wanted to see Wishes one last time before it ends. We did the garden view party. We had our desserts in the upper level and then were escorted out to the garden about 20 minutes before the show started. The desserts were good and seemed plentiful. I feel like it was an expensive "treat" but not having to deal with crowds and camping out for an hour before the fireworks helped me justify it. I think we had a good view and we were able to sit in the "grass" comfortably for the show. We also did the jingle bam dessert party in December and I feel like that was a much better value as it included appetizers as well as desserts and alcoholic beverages. We really booked both parties for the convenience of reserved viewing area as my husband is in a wheelchair and we have 6 year old twins. It made it so much easier for us to see both shows without someone coming up at the last minute and standing in front of my husband and children.

When I was a Disney rookie, I scoffed at the price $25.. little did I know in just a few short years it would triple, and it's still dry.. I'm not a drinker.. but for that price, you'd better get a cocktail or 2.. and not just a small plate of buffet deserts..

I would like to do one of the fireworks desert parties.. either the boat on the lagoon, or the one at Grand Californian.. but again.. not being a drinker.. most aren't going to be worth it for us.. We'll just have to settle for getting something at the Top of the World Lounge.. which is pretty cool in its own right..
