Unless Disney Dreams is coming from DLP in time for my trip in 2014, then NO absolutely NOT Wishes must stay!!! Even though it's like, what, ten years old now???

I remember when Wishes was amazing and new back in 2003, then around 2006 ish it got old. I remember thinking it was the best fireworks show anywhere until I saw Disneyland's Magical back in 2009. They could definitely do better, and if this rumor was true then fine by me. The only concern would be it's replacement actually being better. But in some cases, you can only get better.

Magic Kingdom is getting a new parade and hopefully a new castle stage show some time soon and new fireworks at night would go well with this entertainment package.

wow, I didnt know that Dreams doesnt have actual fireworks, I'll have to pull it up on youtube.
LOL I exaggerate (it does have fireworks), but due to restrictions, DLP does not have any large scale pyro, nothing along the lines of the massive pyro that is launched with Wishes, or even the smaller stuff that is fired for IllumiNations. DLP has pyro more like Fantasmic.

Thank goodness. The last thing WDW needs is to try to do firework shows without proper fireworks - as DLP is forced to do.
Indeed. A Dreams! type presentation was proposed, and would have seen more limited pyro at the MK. Whilst some DLP tech may eventually be used in WDW I'd hope the traditional big bangs in the sky over the castle type show continues.

It works fantastically well for Paris but Orlando needs to keep what it has (and has the luxury of being able to do)

True, but why not incorporate the new effects of shows like Dreams with the massive pyro of a show like Wishes? (fountains, projections, other lighting or laser effects, etc.)
Well we all know that in an ideal world that would be great, but we also know that in the real world it does not work like that. To fund that show they would be looking for cost savings by reducing the pyro, and I think you could say goodbye to the large scale pyro.

Anyhow, Epcot is the place for lasers, lighting and projections. For me, lasers look completely wrong on the castle.

Ok, maybe not lasers. :p

But why not incorporate the castle projections, along with some waterway fountains and Main Street (and other areas) lighting effects? A theme park operator that seeks to always improve its offerings and continually "exceed guest expectations" should be doing this, right?

Yes absolutely. My only concern when people bring up DLP is that their approach leads to a reduction in pyro, which I don't think is a good thing.

I hope and pray that dreams never makes it to magic kingdom park. A grand fireworks show like Wishes is all that's needed for Magic Kingdom. Keep the projectors for Celebrate the Magic but not in the fireworks show. Fantastic and IllumiNations are the Fountain laser projection shows and lets let them continue to be. Also for the person that said magical was better than Wishes have you seen the show live? Wishes uses more fireworks than Magical and in my opinion is still a far better show. Unless a replacement show for wishes keeping the same scale of pyro is planned I'm happy with Wishes staying put.

I've seen all 3 (Remember, Magical, and Wishes). Magical is not as good as Wishes, but I'd say it's somewhat close. Remember easily beats both of them, especially before they cut it down in 2009.

Also, Disneyland is kinda limited in using high pyro because, well, Anaheim.
