Wireless access at the resorts

Hey all,

My family will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside (Still call it Dixie Landings though :) ) in 2 weeks and I was wondering about the wireless internet access.

Is this something that you have to have for your entire stay? Do you have to request it before you get there? Can I get it for just a day or two during our stay?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I like the idea of posting pictures for everyone shortly after I have taken them.

I don't know if there is wireless or not. We stayed at Pop Century in September, and all they had was in room high-speed that had to be connected by cable. You paid for 24hrs of use.

Hmmm, maybe I read wrong. Ok then new question.

Does anyone know if there is free wireless access anywhere in WDW?

We stayed at POFQ in Sept 2008, and it was $9.95 four 24 hours of access.

It isn't wireless though... you have to plug into the data port. A connector cable (for use from your laptop to the data port) is provided in the room. (Check in the closet area in a bag if its not with the data port)

Your 24 hours starts after you connect your computer and accept the charge. So you can plan it accordingly, and you don't have to get it everyday, only as often as you choose.

We didn't have any problems while we were there, the access was easy to get, and we had a fast connection the two or three times we used it during the week we were there.

Enjoy your trip!

what i dont understand is i am staying at the poly and there site says internet but its not listed on the above

It is listed :)

It says:

High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA) is currently available in all guest rooms in each of the 22 Disney owned and operated resorts. Use of this service requires a Local Area Network (LAN) cable, which is available in the room free for guest use. The cables can be found either in room closet, on the room TV Stand, or already connected to port. If the cable is missing, please call Housekeeping for a replacement.

We just got back from a stay at the Contemporary. Internet is NOT wireless, you gotta use the ethernet cable. Also, the cost was $9.95 per 24 hours of access. Internet access is one of my biggest gripes with the Disney resorts. :brick:
