Is there a diagnostic that can be run that will give me a fair idea how Vista will run on my machine? My Dell laptop claims to be Vista capable but with only 1 gig of RAM that is shared with the video I am rather skeptical.

If there is such a thing in it, the main stream net media will publicise it. Give it a few days and I'm sure Snopes will have it on their database one way or another.

It's probably a hoax. the truth is that if you dont activate or need to reactivate and dont, or if you used a pirated serial key or something, Vista will slowly die over 30 days, starting with the premium features, ect, until it won't boot.
