Willy Wonka

Ok....not to sound lame..but I wonder why Disney has never attempted to buy the rights to the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"?

It was just on and I was thinking how cool it would be to have an attraction just like the factory, especially the big garden area scene.

I then wonder what park it would make sense at? Disney's Hollywood Studios? I know it would be more in tuned with Fantasyland at MK, but not sure if considered a Disney film to be there.

Your thoughts?

Because Both versions are owned by Warner Bros.
That's irrelevant. Many things in parks are not Disney.

I've pondered this idea for quite a while actually. The only thing I can come up with is that it doesn't fit thematically. The whole idea and buildup to the movie was that you needed to have a golden ticket, tickets were rare and only a select few were allowed into the factory, so thousands of people entering into the factory wouldn't make sense. Along with that where would you put it? DHS fits but it wouldn't work at all for the "golden age of Hollywood" that they try to force at you, but then again neither does Pixar Studios or Lucasland.

It'd make a great replacement scene for The Great Movie Ride. Let's say it would replace the Tarzan scene and in place the Chocolate Room with Gene Wilder singing Pure Imagination. Beautiful!

That is actually an awesome idea! No need to worry about where to place an entire attraction. Just like the Wizard of Oz scene, this could fit in perfect!

That sounds like a good idea! I actually read that as "a great replacement FOR TGM", and I got scared

I love the idea of adding it as a scene replacement! As a kid I always hoped there really was a candy factory somewhere like Willy Wonka's. So it would be like a little mini dream come true. :D
