Will the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train RC be an E-Ticket?

As I've said several times, Mermaid is described internally (meaning not for PR reasons) as a D. It ain't Pirates or Mansion, but then it wasn't meant to be.

Reviews that have reached me from DCA so far have been mixed. Not bad reviews at all, just a lot more "nice", "cute" and "fun" than "wow" or "amazing".

As for the mine ride....we'll have to wait on some more information.

From the preview videos I've seen the theming and animatronics look really good. You can tell this one Disney put alot of effort into. It's leaps and bounds grander than the fantasyland dark rides.

I would describe it as splash mountain without the thrills

Will the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train RC be a new E-Ticket in the MK? Or will it be more like the new Little Mermaid Ride a kind of solid D-Ticket. And if it is not, why didn't Disney include a true E-Ticket in the FLE when the last E-Ticket addition to MK is 19 years! ago and we even lost an E-Ticket in the last 20 years (20.00LutS)?

I sure as hell hope so. I have had a gut feeling from the beginning that this ride could potentialy be incredible. The new track technology sounds pretty innovative. I have high hopes for this ride and not for the thrill factor, but I think visually it will be amazing. Also Lee is now saying we will have to wait for some more information. I like the way this is heading.

I know the discussion what is an "E-Ticket" is as old as the boards where these topics are discussed, probably even older but I don't know how WDW-fans communicated before the internet.

And of course there is the problem that without the ticketing-systems of the old days there is no accurate definition. In those days an E-Ticket was a ride where you needed an E-Ticket to do it. That's it.
But today that definition is a real problem. Does anyone know if there is an official definition existing or used among WDI-imagineers?

I consider PotC, BTMR, HM, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and JC the Super-headliners and best rides of the MK and they are all E-Tickets. What best rides are there that are D-Tickets in your opinion?
Perhaps I am a little E-Ticket fanatic but there is a reason why they are considered the crown jewels and peak of imagineering.

Great D tickets

Living with the Land
Rock n Roller Coaster
TSMM
Dinosaur if all the effects were working

I do not agree with Rock n Roller Coaster being a D ticket. To me, that's an E. Great ride, great themeing. It's the second best roller coaster on property in my opinion.

I think it has terrible theming!! It has one of the worst and most plain queues ever and the theming on the coaster is Six Flags cheesy.

I would consider HoP an e ticket with 44 human animatronics, a huge capacity theater with awesome air condition and nice carpet
Crazy but true...my then four-year-old daughter really liked the Hall of the Presidents, and said she was disappointed because it was too short(!).

If they were using the old ticket system little mermaid would be considered an e-ticket. It's up there with it's a small world and country bears which were both e's.

I think you've actually got it right there. Barnstormer is a "kiddie" ride with a 35" height requirement. EE is a full-on rollercoaster, certainly not the most intense coaster in the world, but a serious thrill ride with a 44" inch requirement. We really don't know a lot about the Seven Dwarfs mine ride, but I'm guessing it will lie in between those two, in height requirement, intensity, and level of theming.

I think you are asking why they wouldn't spend more money on this ride to make it outstanding. Well, they might surprise us. But if they don't, I think it's because it's not a full-on coaster. It will be too much for the littlest children to ride, and will have more limited appeal to teenagers and adults without children than a big ride like EE. Smaller market, smaller expenditure.

Personally, I'm looking forward to trying it out with my family, and I'm just glad they went with this instead of the meet-and-greets.
The Matterhorn is a "kiddie" coaster with a 36" height requirement just like the Barnstormer. The Matterhorn is certainly not as intense as EE, but a coaster doesn't need a tall height requirement to be fun. I hope it's themed better than EE... we don't have the space in Fantasyland to spend the first 30 seconds of the ride cruising through a nondescript forest.

:ROFLOL: This is my favourite selection of criteria for an E Ticket ever. I think it should become the standard measurement for all future E Ticket candidates.
