Will the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train RC be an E-Ticket?

Will the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train RC be a new E-Ticket in the MK? Or will it be more like the new Little Mermaid Ride a kind of solid D-Ticket. And if it is not, why didn't Disney include a true E-Ticket in the FLE when the last E-Ticket addition to MK is 19 years! ago and we even lost an E-Ticket in the last 20 years (20.00LutS)?

Disney has used the term e ticket when describing mermaid so in their view they replaced an e ticket with another one.

Sdmt is being mentioned on here as a d.

A tough one because we don't know how many show scenes there will be. If it's just the one from the art then no IMO it will be a D. If there are more it will be an E.

Still can't decide if I think TLM is a D or E.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. The Tiki Room was originally an E-ticket at Disneyland (although I don't think it ever was at WDW, but I don't know for sure). The Skyway was a D ticket. I think the mine train will be a better attraction than the Skyway, but the reason the Skyway was a D was because the line moved so slow they needed to restrict use.

If you just mean, will the mine train be an epic attraction on the level of POTC, everything we've seen would suggest no.

20k was only an E ticket because of the era it debuted. By today standards it would only be a D ticket, so I can't buy the replacing a E ticket with a D ticket arugment. Even if Mermaid and Snow are considered D tickets, I’d rather have 2 D tickets over 1 E ticket.

I dont think it makes sense to compare what was and E-ticket 50 years ago to an E-ticket now.
Just think about the most recent ones: ST 2.0, TSM,... Is Little Mermaid on the same level? I think so. Will Seven Dwarfs be too? I guess not, but we won't be sure until more details surface.

As I've said several times, Mermaid is described internally (meaning not for PR reasons) as a D. It ain't Pirates or Mansion, but then it wasn't meant to be.

Reviews that have reached me from DCA so far have been mixed. Not bad reviews at all, just a lot more "nice", "cute" and "fun" than "wow" or "amazing".

As for the mine ride....we'll have to wait on some more information.

I would say that pretty much sums up my question. What irritates me is the fact that with the exception of kids Goofys Barnbuster EVERY rollercoaster in the WDW parks was an E-Ticket so far: BTMR, Space Mountain, RnRc and EE. There's a reason why, the heavy theming, the size of the ride, load area etc. make it automatically an E-Ticket . Why should Seven Dwarfs Mine be an exception?

Because not every ride can be an E-ticket? Two D-tickets and a restaurant in one expansion is almost unheard of (especially for WDW )

I mean, some of the best rides are D-tickets.

I consider PotC, BTMR, HM, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and JC the Super-headliners and best rides of the MK and they are all E-Tickets. What best rides are there that are D-Tickets in your opinion?
Perhaps I am a little E-Ticket fanatic but there is a reason why they are considered the crown jewels and peak of imagineering.

IMHO, an E-ticket is nothing more or less than the popularity of a ride. I'd put PPF and TSMM in the E-ticket category just because they're extremely popular, while Mission: Space would probably be a D-ticket because of its relative lack of popularity, even though it has far more advanced technology than either of the previous two.

Edit: As a side note, didn't they say that Seven Dwarfs was supposed to be less intense than Big Thunder? Seems sort of lame to me, especially with the potential that the concept of a Mine Train coaster would seem to imply.

I just dont know. Dose Disney have an official guide that tells what parameters make an "E" ticket an "E" ticket. If not than I guess it will be in the eyes of the beholder.

To my knowledge no. E ticket, D ticket, etc are no more than ambiguous terms thrown around rather Willie-nilly. When tickets actually existed the Hall of Presidents was an E ticket attraction. I doubt anyone would consider it one now.

You forgot Primeval Whirl which is probably a C.

Interpretation of A-E tickets is widely subjective. It almost always results in a pointless debate. While I agree with your list on the Magic Kingdom, I'm sure there are others who would disagree (probably knocking Jungle Cruise down a peg).

In the current world we live in, I imagine that the tickets would be based on popularity as was indicated elsewhere. For me, the question should be, "Does this attraction drive attendance in that particular park, if so how much?" Most new attractions will accomplish this, but if they can continue to sustain this ability they are likely an E-Ticket. If not, they are somewhere below.

I think you've actually got it right there. Barnstormer is a "kiddie" ride with a 35" height requirement. EE is a full-on rollercoaster, certainly not the most intense coaster in the world, but a serious thrill ride with a 44" inch requirement. We really don't know a lot about the Seven Dwarfs mine ride, but I'm guessing it will lie in between those two, in height requirement, intensity, and level of theming.

I think you are asking why they wouldn't spend more money on this ride to make it outstanding. Well, they might surprise us. But if they don't, I think it's because it's not a full-on coaster. It will be too much for the littlest children to ride, and will have more limited appeal to teenagers and adults without children than a big ride like EE. Smaller market, smaller expenditure.

Personally, I'm looking forward to trying it out with my family, and I'm just glad they went with this instead of the meet-and-greets.

That's the feeling I've been getting from the videos and images. It seems that it's really well made for what it was intended to be, but it's not to the level of Pirates or Mansion in terms of wow-factor. I am happy with what they made - but I'd love a true E-ticket (Pirates/Mansion style) :)

I would consider HoP an e ticket with 44 human animatronics, a huge capacity theater with awesome air condition and nice carpet

That's definitely the first time I've seen carpet and E-tickets used in the same statement! I agree that you can't beat the air though. I'd fork over two E-tickets for that alone in the summer!
