It looks like some of those tiles are pretty high up! And being so small, are they even going to be properly visible? Or are the people in the image crouching? Haha!

while yes, A names went on the A tombs and so on and so on, the images could not be alphabetized within each tomb because they were selling them for around 8 years or so.

Not all of the panels were all filled, so as time moved on, they were still able to place them alphebetically.

Just think. My tile look says it’s on panel 420. With 87 Rows and 21 Columns, there’s at least 767,340 tiles before mine. That is if they don’t skip numbers.

Even if they didn't continue to sell them it is very unlikely that they could have done things alphabetically, even with the help of the Phoenicians. They didn't put them on the stones after they were all sold, that would be impossible. Unless by some miracle they were able to sell them alphabetically. Suppose they were up to the W's and someone named Arnold shows up. Would they have to move every single one to fit it in the A's? That is why they always had the cross reference. You gave your name they looked it up alphabetically and then told you the section, row, etc. where it was located.
