Trip Report Will it ever stop raining? Our June 2017 trip

Hi, all!! I've finally had a chance to start going through my photos and thought I would get started on my trip report! For those of you not familiar, here is my pre-trip report:
Adventure is out there...June 2017
If you don't want to read the PTR, here is a brief synopsis before I get started:
Who: Me (Amy), DH (Brian), DS Logan (14), DD Lily (12), and DS Owen (9)
When: June 2-17, 2017
Where: Universal Studios (Hard Rock Hotel), Disney (Art of Animation), and SeaWorld

For those of you who followed along with the live portion of my PTR, I apologize that some of the photos will be the same. I'm too lazy to go back and remember which ones I used!

I experienced one of the longest days of my life on Friday, June 2!! We left Dayton, Ohio before 5am.

Neither one of us drinks coffee, but we definitely needed some caffeine to start our morning! We stopped for the best Coke in the world!!

McDonald's!!
We had a little delay in Cincinnati because I-75 was closed both directions and we had to take a little detour.
We waved @LisaBelle and @21stamps and any other Cinci friends as we finally drove over the bridge and entered Kentucky!

We made sure to get past Lexington before morning rush hour, and stopped in Richmond for breakfast.

The kids had never had Chick fil A for breakfast, so we had to correct that!

Ok so before I post I have to apologize for being
1) A star wars geek - not cra cra - but geek all the same
2) An engineer and hence detail orientated and an#$ retentive

View attachment 221081

BB8 was introduce and only in Force Awakens so far
He was not in Rogue One.

Again, I apologize

Max

If that bothers you, you better not ride Star Tours. The sight of Vader, Jango Fett, Finn, and BB8 sharing the same storyline might push you over the edge....

We were a still a few minutes early, so we stopped to watch the Jedi Training. Lily and Owen decided to help them out!

I snagged another FP+ for The Great Movie Ride. On the way over, we stopped to see Olaf.

I love your attention to detail in your pictures! You capture so many of the little things that make Disney so special that most of us (myself included) miss as we rush from one attraction to another. Next time I go, I want to stop every once and really look around at my surroundings!

We had decided that we would have PizzaRizzo's for dinner. Great plan, except they are only open until 4pm!:banghead: So we ended up here:

These guys were mingling amongst us:
IMG_3501 by Amy Clingner, on Flickr

They announced that everyone would meet at 9:15 to walk over to the viewing area for the 9:30 show. I went and asked if we were allowed into the viewing area early because I wanted to see the new projection show, Disney Movie Magic. The CM told us to head over whenever we wanted, so we looked around a little before we made our way out of the building.
IMG_3507 by Amy Clingner, on Flickr

Owen couldn't resist interacting with the Jawas again!!
IMG_3508 by Amy Clingner, on Flickr

There was one other couple in the viewing area when we got there, so we were in the very front row with a fantastic view!
IMG_3510 by Amy Clingner, on Flickr
IMG_3511 by Amy Clingner, on Flickr

They gave us our Chewie steins as we entered the area. Then they came around a little later with bottles of water for us.
It was just the two groups of us when the projection show started.

Right after the projection show ended, everyone else from the dessert party showed up.
It was finally time for Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.

This was another dessert party that I would definitely recommend! The desserts were good, and the viewing area was phenomenal. There was a section directly in front of us for the wheelchairs and scooters that were at the dessert party, but they were a good 10 feet in front of us, so not blocking the view, then there was a walkway directly in front of them. So nobody standing directly in front of us to block the view!!

In case you failed to notice, we went the entire day with NO RAIN!!!

Hooray for a rain-free day.

I continue to enjoy your trip report. I am now taking notes on dining experiences you enjoyed, esp. the viewing party packages. I'm even going back to read your old reports while I wait for you to have time to complete this one. Those cruises you took look amazing! I am ready to visit Castaway Cay! Thanks for sharing so many fantastic photos. I am anxious to hear about your SeaWorld visit (I think I remember reading that was one of your new stops this trip) because my kids found their new favorite ride there....Mako. Curious if your kiddos enjoyed that park.

I was reading today that you can get O'hana's bread pudding at the Tambu Lounge at the Poly from the Tambu Lounge menu (not the lunch/dinner menu from Tambu). So if you ever miss out on an O'hana dinner reservation, or if your DH just wants to have a "bonus serving" one trip, you can try there. :)

Thanks! The cruises were amazing! The kids are begging to go on another! They really enjoyed SeaWorld! I have to get through our Epcot day, then I'll get to SeaWorld. They liked Manta a little better than Mako, but enjoyed them both! I did know about Tambu Lounge and the bread pudding. Luckily, we've been able to get an 'Ohana reservation each time we've wanted it! In fact, we were going to stop there after our SeaWorld day this trip, but we finished SeaWorld early enough that we decided to do Disney Springs instead that night.
