Will Fountainview Reopen?

A query for anyone who might know... and even those who just want to speculate :)

Will the Fountainview Cafe in Epcot reopen?

It closed when Character Connect started to become Character Spot. Now that Character Spot is open, one would assume the restaurant would be open, but it's not.

The whole Character Spot makeover isn't done for the area. The remainder of the hallway toward Club Cool has refurb walls and the character spot itself doesn't seem to actually use the hallway - rather the area that was the old restaurant.

Any ideas? Maybe when the rework of the rest of the hall is complete or when Character Spot formally opens?

Maybe a letter to guest communications would be appropriate? I mean, I'd like for it to be open, but can't get a definative answer.. and I buy breakfast food off property in its absense.

well if they bring back fountainview they should also bring back that watershow with the metal trex fighting Mickey dressed like Captain Eo. That was a cool show!

I trust Fountainview isn't the locale near UoE. The "best," aka traditional, place for us to buy coffee is the quick service place near Ellen... (gotta have my my carmel latte). I trust that this isn't what you guys are talking about.

Do they serve something other than Nescafe there? I kinda assumed that Nescafe was served everywhere except at Boma, Jiko, and Kona cafe. If Necasfe is served, how can you make the statement best coffee on property? Ek!

Unfortunately there are no plans right now to reopen Fountainview. Sad too because they don't have any plans to replace it with anything either.

I miss Fountain View it was a great affordable place to eat at Epcot. If I needed a quick snack mid day I always went to Fountain View. Now I go to Electric Umbrella for a fast snack.

No the fountainview overlooks the Fountain of Nations. That's a prime location. I can't see any reason for it being closed. I hate to whine about it, but I think WDW really has to many empty unused buildings. Three might not seem like a lot for a park the size of Epcot, but it sure leaves me with a feeling of neglect. Especially when it's at a spot most people walk by when entering, and leaving.

I'll really miss Fountainview. I loved grabbing a light breakfast here. The pastries were excellent. First the cheese disappeared from the bar at Pecos Bill's, then Fountainview closed, and now Tusker House will be closing soon. All my inexpensive favorites are disappearing! What's next??? Hopefully not the Main Street Bakery!

I miss getting an iced cappuccino and a Nestle Toll House cookie, or a creme brulee (which was DELICIOUS), at the FountainView and then watching the Fountain of Nations on the terrace.

Plus, I have an obsession with people-watching. :D That helped, too.

But the food and drinks were great, I absolutely miss that place for my 4 pm coffee break.
