She's one of a group of pavilion specific storytellers brought out during December at EPCOT to talk about and teach about other holidays. She, covers Ramadan. You got this in the wrong thread dude. Jasmines new look is bieng discussed elsewhere

Thanks so much for responding. I see your point, but I don't think that Disney is being disrespectful toward other religions or cultures.Hanukkah,Ramadan and KwanzaaI to name a few. I just think it's dumb that Disney doesn't really embrace any other holidays during the time of Christmas. It's basically a screw you to any other religion or culture having a holiday during that time. Especially a place like epcot or animal kingdom should educate on the differences between other cultures holidays and what they are. All they would have to do is include a few pieces of different holidays music in the holiday shows and parade and change ALL the names to the parties, shows, parades to holidays instead of christmas.
There are people who confuse paying respect with being disrespectful. And, they are fools, frankly. Thanks so much for responding. I see your point, but I don't think that Disney is being disrespectful toward other religions or cultures.
With that said, I wouldn't mind seeing what different cultures celebrate in addition to Christmas during the holidays at AK or Epcot.
Hi @englanddg! I don't understand what you mean by this. Do you agree with me or not? There are people who confuse paying respect with being disrespectful. And, they are fools, frankly.
Especially when said respect belongs to a culture they have deemed unacceptable in their own minds (and very likely, belong to, so, it's really sort of a leftover intellectual issue from teenaged anti-parental "revolution").
I don't agree nor disagree with you. I do, however, fervently disagree with those who choose to find offense in everything (as some in this thread have already indicated they lean), and those who see exclusion of certain practices without inclusion of others, especially for the sake of inclusion alone, as "progressive". It's not. It just assuages their own personal social guilt, or gives them a feeling of mock superiority.Hi @englanddg! I don't understand what you mean by this. Do you agree with me or not?
I wouldn't mind seeing other holidays and cultures celebrated at Disney. But, I don't think Disney is being disrespectful to those cultures just because they're not currently represented in the parks. Disney World used to have a church on property.
I really liked the Youtube video with the Kwanzaa celebration. I'm beginning to think that we're just not aware of everything that Disney offers during the Christmas time. World Showcase has a lot of culture stuff going on during the holidays that's not widely known. So, does AK.
Wow! Thank you for such an eloquent response. I totally agree with everything you've written here. I'm not religious either, but I am spiritual.I don't agree nor disagree with you. Disney didn't completely push it off property. For example, you can go to services at the Contemporary on Christmas and Easter. There is a dedicated prayer room in the Morocco pavilion that even offers prayer rugs so Guests do not need to furnish their own.
They did used to do it, one service for Catholics, one for Protestants, every Sunday until the early 2000s (non-denominational services at Polynesian, over in the Luau area), and cost Disney nothing but allowing for the space...but the practice was stopped, partially because of "inclusion" claims and supposed "complaints" (though, note, the dedicated prayer room in Morocco wasn't limited or removed, nor even mentioned by those "complaining").
It's easier to exclude, as a policy, than to include, because once you start down the path of catering to those who choose to be offended at everything, it never ends, so that's the choice Disney made.
Rather sad really (and, I'm not religious at all...but...)...
Fixed that for you DudeWow! Thank you for such an eloquent response. I totally agree with everything you've written here. I'm not religious either, but I am spiritual.
It's wonderful that Disney has church at the Contemporary on Christmas and Easter. I've always wanted to attend the Gospel Brunch at House of Blues, too.
And, I didn't even know that Disney has a prayer room in Morocco for guests. This gesture alone should be enough for guests to realize that Disney respects and embraces all cultures. As long as they have cash to spend.
If you're going to include something, maybe make the minimal effort to see if it is actually appropriate. Ramadan is a month in the Islamic calendar which does not align itself to the Gregorian calendar. This year the month aligned mostly with June with Eid al-Fitr being on July 7.Hanukkah,Ramadan and KwanzaaI to name a few. I just think it's dumb that Disney doesn't really embrace any other holidays during the time of christmas.
forget the popcorn i believe this would be more appropriate here

In answer to the OP's question, no, Disney will not ever stop celebrating Christmas. It brings in $$$.
