I hope Disney can take some pointers from IOA, but they definately need to stay Disney.
Hopefully not even pointers. I can understand why Disney has been forcing thrill rides down our throats, but remember, Walt Disney traveled around the globe to look at different parks. He saw their thrill rides, and went the totally opposite way. He decided to make the thrills out of placing people where they never have been before. Hopefully Disney can look at IOA and find that thrill rides are great, but that is not why most people have fallen in love with Disney. I am a person who will jump on any rollercoaster or thrill ride, but like dxwwf3 said, there needs to be a balance (that I do not find at IOA).
What makes Space Mountain so great? It is not just the thrill from riding a rollercoaster in the dark. (I have ridden MindBinder at Astro World, and it was not that great.) It is the setup that Space Mountain gets. There are theaters and slow moving rides around Space Mountain that hieghten the overall enjoyment of the ride, once you get to it.
Space Mountain can be picked up and placed in a park filled with rollercoasters, and it would not be the same thrill that we have all come to love. Something would seem missing from the classic that is so adored.
Well, anyway, I voted yes. It might just be the fact that I hope there will be another omni-mover attraction, but I think with the technology that has been created in the past few years, the Imagineers could come up with a new and amazing ride that would give all us die-hard Disney fans what we want so badly. But, it could also satisfy the needs of the general crowd.
Now, I hate doing this, but I feel that I should connect both the subjects in my post. I also feel I might be opening another can of worms (or another thread). How could we get an omni-mover attraction that disguised itself into a ride that thrill seekers would want to go on. I have no doubt that the creativity in the Walt Disney Co. is still there, and I believe they could do just that.
