Will anyone stay on site any longer?

No Im saying spend 7 night there and go to their parks 3x......1 park per day (Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay 1 day each) and go to WDW parks the other days..........
With all the $ you save from Disney you can buy Genie+ for every day, then buy the 2 LL extras every day, never wait in a line any of your 7 park days and still spend thousands less while staying in a better hotel

oh you're the one

you hate Universal? you never go?
Not interested in Minions.
Not interested in Mummy.
Not interested in Woody Woodpecker.
Not interested in ET.
Not interested in Fast and Furious.
Not interested in Transformers.
Not interested in Shrek.
Not Interested in Jimmy Fallon.
Not interested in the Simpsons.
Not interested in Rip Ride Rockit.
Not interested in Jurassic Park.
Not interested in Dr. Seuss.
Not interested in Kong.
Not interested in Harry Potter.

So I would do Spider-Man, Hulk, and Ripsaw Falls.

Pass.

People complain about Disney IP, but at least it's IP that I like. Universal is 100% IP and it's IP that I don't care about in the slightest.

I would DEFINITELY enjoy Volcano Bay, but not so much more than Blizzard Beach that I'd bother splitting my vacation up to see it.

I think he just meant read a dictionary, ya know, so you could finally learn the difference between a fact and an opinion.
My main point is that it's not a crazy idea that someone might not like Harry Potter. As a matter of fact, books 1 through 6 were a huge part of my childhood. Then book 7 sucked and I hated all of the movies. Universal decided to base their lands on the movie versions of those characters. I'm not interested in them.

I'm just jumping in to say that Volcano Bay is light years more interesting than Blizzard Beach.

BB is fun for a few hours. I spent two days at Volcano Bay and was never bored.
I don't doubt it, but I don't think there's a water park anywhere in the world where I'd want to spend two days. It's just not my thing. So for me, it's a few hours at BB or a few hours at VB, and that's not enough for me to bother with the cost and logistical issues of getting there.

Is that an opinion or a fact? 😉
I count two opinions and one fact.

Newer, nicer, better quality features in the rooms, pool better, theme better, food better

Deluxe 2 queen room is 25% larger at 500 sq feet and is half the cost of Contemporary 394 sq foot room

and they have a ton more room categories if you want more room

But other than that, nothing
Thanks! What are the better features of the rooms and what about the food is better? I assume you're comparing the food in the hotel restaurants?

The beauty of Universal's smaller land mass is that Volcano Beach is a short walk from the hotels. Blizzard Beach requires a bus ride, then a transfer to another bus ride.

I don't have any issues with the transportation at WDW in general, but sometimes I appreciate the ease of getting around the Universal complex.

My last trip was a split stay between the two resorts and Universal held a lot of appeal because of that convenience factor. CityWalk and dinner options are right outside the theme parks. There isn't the same hassle of needing to get to Disney Springs for example.

These are some of the factors that mean I'm spending less time on Disney property than the past.

On the topic of Volcano Bay, we're always talking about crowds and the lack of them is a big appeal of the water parks in general. At least when I went. In January/February most people stay away because of "low" temperatures, but for those of us coming from the North it feels like summer weather.

After the business of the theme parks it's nice to go somewhere where you can walk onto all of the attractions all day long. It was a relaxing break from the other parks.

I would agree with this sentiment. Whether it's "better" or not is still subjective, but the integration of theming at VB is something all water parks should aspire to. At least at the high tier resort destinations that Uni and WDW market themselves to be. For our family, VB has the better F&B, rides, and the VQ system (Tapu Tapu) is great to avoid the feeling of being in line all day. It's aesthetically a beautiful park, and the pathways don't meander like Disney's, providing more reprieve for bare feet on hot concrete.

All of that said, if I were otherwise staying in the Disney bubble without a rental car, I don't know that I'd Uber over to VB over BB or TL. When staying at Disney, water parks are a nice thing to do. VB is an integral part of enjoying a UOR vacation.

Just my $0.02.

Even with a rental car, I just like the bubble for the bubble's sake. It would be very easy and save me a few bucks to drive over to Flippers from Saratoga Springs to get a pizza, but 535 and 192 stress me out and it's worth a few extra dollars and a somewhat limited menu of experiences to save myself that hassle.

With the new genie+, lightening lane and paid fastpass, what is the incentive to stay on property for the premium they charge?

you can get a HUGE incentive to stay at Hard Rock universal by getting express pass and paying $300 per night vs contemporary $900 per night.

you don’t miss out on anything at wdw by doing that (other than 2 hours at night twice per week which is almost nothing) and you save a TON of money while skipping EVERY line at universal without paying for it. Then get a 2-3 day park hopper and buy the 2 FPs at Disney.
We stayed off site two times and hated it, it was our first couple "Disney Vacations". We could have had a room onsite for the same money but we were dumb. We have stayed onsite ever since, but that was before covid so I don't know how we will work it this time and since the new AP black out two days we normally spend there for our vacation.
