I know everyone thinks that the attendance at WDW is indestructible, and until Uni announced a new park, I agreed. I really think that new park is gonna cause Dis to take a major hit. There are always going to be your Disney-only diehards, but if Uni peels off even a smaller percentage of revenue from Dis, say... 20%, it could be catastrophic. If Epic is an epic success, Dis might lose visitors permanently. There will be people who have never visited Uni who fall in love with it. Just as bad is if Dis loses 2 or 3 days out of a family's vacation each trip. It'd be really bad for Dis to start sharing more families with other parks. And if Dis doesn't have a response to Epic, they will gradually lose visitors to Uni until Dis is backed into a corner of drastically cutting costs, or investing a mountain of dollars into something really big to win people back. Either of those would be catastrophic because cost cutting measures will really upset their fans when things aren't working, are filthy, or attractions/shows just get mothballed. It's a downward spiral. Soon after you'll have people saying, "well, why don't we go back to Dis for a few days to keep costs down since the parks are near empty, and ticket prices are so low." 🤣

I might be wrong, but I enjoy being in the prediction business. 😁 I'm like a street-side psychic but worse because I don't get paid for my predictions.

Its sad to say, but Disney has played the catch up game with Uni for some time now. In any industry, sitting back and not being actively competitive, keeping up and reaching to improve to stay ahead or #2 in the game, only hurts the bottom line. Dis has the rep and doesnt think they have to try that hard to stay ahead. Numbers consistently have shown Dis remains #1. Uni keeps chipping away slowly and I agree Epic will draw lots of revenue away from Dis. I dont know that it will be catastrophic but I'm sure Dis will feel the hurt.
It can only help us if Dis is forced to respond by improving guest pricing and promotions to keep us around.

You're not wrong. My family of 6 hasn't been to WDW since 2018. We had a great trip to DL in 2022. In 2025 I'm going to be a "shut up and take my money" guest at UNI. I'm currently trying to convince my family to not step on WDW property on the upcoming trip.

I'm with you. I've stepped on WDW property precisely once in 2017 solo for one day while on a business trip. I was headed to Orlando and figured I'd fly in a day early and enjoy the day. Other than that I haven't been on property since 2010 due to a personal boycott due to all the changes I didn't like. I'm seriously considering a trip to Uni in October for Horror Nights. I don't plan to spend a second in Disney, and this coming from someone who used to take an 8-day trip every other year in my younger years with my then girlfriend/wife. I miss my old Disney, but not what's there right now.

Sorry for taking this a bit of track, all. My fault.

Meh, both corporate offerings are something we already visit anyway, so for us it won't change that much unless Epic steps up its food service. Toothsome and Mythos are the only two places we really love to eat at for Uni, the rest we opt for I-Drive alternatives.
