Does anyone else remember when the MK had a stunt show in Frontier land near the shooting arcade? I think it was in the 80's. I remember guys getting shot and falling off the roofs. Anyone else or am I just going crazy?

Though I don't remember MK having this, I DO remember Ghost Town in the Sky theme park having something just like you described... :lookaroun

Baseball & Boardwalk had this show. I watched it many times. And if I remember correctly, I think the theater was near a shooting gallery, too. Could be what you're remembering, if you ever visited during B&B's heyday in the late 80's/early 90's.

Ah, B&B. Such great memories. Now it's just a giant strip mall.

Frontierland is not what it used to be.

Years ago, it was bustling with cowboys and Indians. The cast members all dressed in the time period. But the thing I remember most was the shops were filled with gifts from the time period. Old food and candy like the pioneers ate, statues of cowboys and Indians for sale, toy rifles that really looked like rifles, Racoon skin caps with real racoon tails on them.

Now, if it weren't for the building designs, you wouldn't even know you were in Frontierland.

The shops are a disgrace now. Who wants to buy a Mickey Mouse toaster in Frontierland? Or Jellybellys and flavored sugar powder from dispensers? Disney Pins in Frontierland...shame on them!

I bet Walt would not be happy if could see what has become of Frontierland.

The merchandise department of WDW should really be ashamed of itself. It really is getting awful.

I disagree. If anything, it's really starting to improve. Sure it's not what it used to be, but at least you're starting to see a bit more attraction specific merchandise rather than just the generic stuff you've seen the past 5 years.

Frontierland was always my favorite land as a kid....I totally remember a similar show going on, and also the great merch. I don't think it'll ever go back to the way it was though, ya know? For money-related reasons, you'll get more impulse buys with random stuff like a Mickey Toaster in all the shops.

I agree in general, but the fact that Main Street and other areas around MK have become glorified gift shops selling very unrelated items is a reason for concern.

When the shops on main street became a line of uninterrupted crud, it really disturbed me. The shops in the other parks aren't quite as bad, but the MK is a bit of a disaster in that area.

The return of the Diamond Horseshoe would go a LONG way to returning that feeling to the area.

And I don't mean the glorified sandwich shop it is now. Bring back the LIVE ENTERTAINMENT!

Well, the MK is a bit of a disaster as whole in my opinion. There's so much that needs to be done in that park.

Diamond Horseshoe is in Liberty Square.;)

On the guidemaps it is, but the theme is most definitely was a part of frontierland's theme when it was in full operation.

If you remember the show, its obvious.:)

I don't mean to be a stickler here, but it was always part of LS. It represents Kansas City(I believe) and the area before the crossing of the Mississippi(there's actually a "Mini-Mississippi" that you cross over, marking the crossover from LS to Frontierland). It may have seemed like a Frontierland show, but it was indeed a LS attraction and designed as one.

ok

pretty sure it WAS at MK because I remember seeing the stars of Flipper (yes I'm dating myself lol) doing the show for us in the middle of the streets way back when...I think it was more 70's though...not 80's.

I guess I should also hate to be a stickler as well, but all of the WDW pictorial guides and Birnbaum's guides through the 70s, 80s, and 90s all list Diamond Horseshoe Revue as being a part of Frontierland, not Liberty Square.

As of right now the official WDW website also lists it as being in Frontierland, so I'm not entirely sure when or if the Diamond Horseshoe was ever a part of Libery Square.

Actually, the Diamond Horseshoe is a clone of the Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland, located in Frontierland.

The show was so popular it moved to Florida as well, along with most of its show elements and Wally Boag, one of the signature performers. Although the architecture of the building is still newer than colonial America Liberty Square (colonial America East Coast as opposed to early 1800's mid-America), the interior show elements were designed to be Wild West, and did add to the Frontierland feel (mid-to-late 1800's American frontier)

I understand the placement, as it is directly chronologically in between Liberty Square and Frontierland, but really that is Disney's fault, not the fault of the show or the general writing of the script.
