When I attended opening day of EuroDisneyland (now Disneyland Paris), I went to the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. It was a dinner show offered two time a night and my famiy loved the show. We talk later with some of the cast members who where all from the US. They told us that Disney was going to build another show at Walt Disney World and they would share Cast Members between the two.

That has been so many years ago, but I still think that the Wild West Show would be a great addition to Walt Disney World. Disney needs more dinner show.

Anyone know more about it and why it was not build.

I say we trump the French by adding a second "wild" to our show's title.

I think there were plans for a similar show at Wilderness Junction, the proposed moderate resort that would've been placed between the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

We saw this a few months ago (although it has been modified a little to incorporate some characters in some parts... 90% the show is still focused on the wild west aspects but they felt they needed to make some change as attendance was declining)... it was very enjoyable and something I would definitely do again... I'm not sure if it would have the same success in the US.

I would rather them have a Blazing Saddles Dinner Show.. It could be centered around the Lil Von Shtupp burlesque show.. They could have a shot out/stunt show featuring Black Bart, Mongo and some of the town folk

I think it would definately make a fantastic addition to DTD. Definately add some life into the area.

Although they'd have to hurry before Dolly Parton reopens a Dixie Stampede in Orlando, which is very similar.

how does it compare the the Hoopdie Review?

The BUffalo Bill show at DLP is like an old fashioned wild west rodeo show, with horse riding, stunts, a buffalo stampede, etc.

There actually was a Dixie Stampede in Orlando, but it closed down a couple of years ago....

I know, it closed so a nearby mall could expand. I read that they're looking for other locations to rebuilt in the Orlando area.

That mall never did expand. After Dixie Stampede left, it became the "World's Largest Pizzeria" and closed down. The building is still vacant, and I can imagine that they could reopen the Stampede there again.

I called them and asked what their plans are and nobody there even know that they even own the building anymore. I guess I wasn't up high enough on the food chain at Dixie Stampede. I would love to see it reopen again. I know that I've seen the show 3 times and it was always a full house. I can't imagine that they were losing money so what was the driving force for them closing it? I was all set to purchase the tickets for their Christmas show and then they announced that it was gone.
