Wild Predictions About Walt Disney World

Disney builds new park. Counting on the fascination guests have with the Utilidors, Disney builds UTILIDORLAND, a park built entirely underground, themed around underground characters,
Mole
th
and
th
Hades. This park excites environmentalists who praise Disneys innovative planning that keeps trees, bushes and other green spaces intact. Guests traverse a labyrinth of tunnels using their sense of smell and experience all rides in the dark, saving on electrical costs.
Joking aside, I always thought a completely underground rollercoaster would be awesome.
Nothing but a queue and a loading area that was visible on the surface.
Obviously, couldn't be built in Florida.
Unless it was a water ride!

1) Epcot will get one of it's orignal pavillions gutted and changed to a Marvel ride.
2) DHS will have it's last opening day attraction and park icon switched out for an animated IP.
3) DAK is going to create a whole land based upon a 3rd party alien franchise.
4) the MK will open an attraction where there is no actual ride just a really nice queue and rockwork(giftshop and bathroom inc)

Serioulsy who would have thought 10 years ago 1-3 could even be possible.

My guess is that the WS and Epcot will get it's first kinetic ride in the form of a coaster.

Can I reserve a Fastpass for that bathroom??

Bold prediction:
1. Disney will start including ESPN channels as an 'a la cart' freebie to season ticket holders.
2. Disney will announce virtual vacations where you can plan an entire vacation tour of the parks, resorts, and/or a number participating destinations and have virtual reality headsets shipped to your home for a 7 day period of time. You will enjoy the sights and smells without leaving your couch. Benefits include cost savings, no crowds, no heat issues, etc. Your headsets will come with several pre-packaged meals from the selected dining places to enjoy as you are virtually there.
3. Disney will build a small but lavish resort underwater, not in Bay Lake, in a special and huge salt-water aquarium attempting to recreate the experience of Animal Kingdom Lodge but underwater. It will be a gigantic success.
4. The 5th gate will happen in about 15 years. The theme will be very generic, something with Adventure or Thrill in it. It will be focused primarily on the 12-35 year old age group and thrill rides. Big roller coasters, big drops, fast paced, high adrenaline types of adventures. Disney will see this as a way to fill out their experience offerings for growing families and to get more younger families interesting in DVC purchases.

1. Pandora, the world's first billion dollar theme park land, does little to stop the cratering attendance numbers.

2. Another large increase in the price of all admission media to offset the attendance drop.

3. 50th plans are scaled back because of aforementioned attendance problems.

4. Attendance problem spirals to the point that future DVC expansion is back burnered until further notice.

(The last one was a joke)

- Someone's little Snowflake will get scared on a ride that their mom insists they go on, despite warning signs posted at the ride entrance, and the mom will go off on Disney, stating that all rides should be "child-friendly".
-Someone will complain about a face character's attire, and Disney will pander to the easily triggered idiots by completely changing the look of said face character.
-Disney will replace a beloved attraction with a "child friendly", IP based attraction.

What's that? All of these have already happened recently? Hmmmm. Well, as we all know, history often repeats itself. ;)

I think Disney's PR team will re-brand WDW as simply Disney World, thereby dropping "Walt" off the front of the name. It will be sad, but that seems to be the direction that the company is headed. They don't care about much anymore.

I also think that they will have hard ticketed events every night forcing the parks to close at 6pm, and that new signage around the parks be written in both English and Portuguese.
