ive found it - a bit too easy :lookaroun but yes it is fun :D playing nintendo demo'd at e3 using my hd componant cable (well 480p - thats kinda hd!) made me all excited again - like i was when i first saw it
I'm terrible at games so I need to read what to do on everything from the strategy guide. That's probably why I like it, because it's easier.

I was reading the first few pages of this thread and laughing at how pathetically WRONG certain people were about the PS3. Where's the PS3 now? Oh that's right collecting dust on store shelves everywhere....

Yeah because most people thought they wouldn't be available from what they heard in the media, so why even look? This is a marathon, not a sprint. When the newness of the Wii dies out, I fully expect the 360 and the PS3 to pull ahead in the console race.

Or people will be converted by the fluid controls and the cheap price and send the wii comfortably ahead of the ps3.

It could happen, but I think that the Wii sales will be front loaded a lot. Sort of like that summer action movie that sees a 60% drop in it's 2nd weekend after release after having a huge opening weekend. The reason I say that is because I think the Wii is targeted at an audience that will buy the system immediately because of the new technology. I think that the Wii will lose it's legs because of weak graphics and Nintendo has distanced its self from Mature rated games in the past (even though the Wii will have them) and could stick in the back of the mind of potential buyers when games like GTA come out.

The graphics are only weak compared to the 360 and ps3. I haven't noticed anything unsatisfactory in Zelda, and CoD 3, while not perfect, was still enjoyable.

That's my point. I haven't seen a Wii in person, but from what I've been told by friends is that it is only a slight improvement over the GameCube. And that's ok because that's not what it was designed for. But I think graphics are a huge component when buying a console.

That's why I purchase Nintendo. I'd much rather play games with a plumber jumping on goomba's heads than blow someones brains out.

Whatever floats you're boat

Mario 64 was one of the best games ever though. That whole system was unappreciated.

What if we like jumping on a goomba then watching it's brains spill on the grass. :lookaroun

As far as launch titles, It doesnt look THAT much better than the Gamecube. Twilight was a Gamecube port so that explains some of the graphical lackings. Once we get the next wave of first party games we'll see.

I still think if a person owns a N64, and PS2 and a 360 they will be set for life gaming wise. I feel like those are, and will be, the most developed of each company's systems.

People don't buy consoles for graphics, they buy them for games so your argument that the PS3 will sell more for that reason is null and void. Don't kid yourself, the PS3 is a joke. It was ranked in Time magazine as one of the biggest flops of 2006. Nobody is buying it and nobody will until, A- the price drops dramatically (fat chance of that happening anytime soon) or B- They release some games that are worthwhile (also fat chance since developers are shying away from the PS3 due to it being impossible to develop games for). As far as I'm concerned the PS3 as it stands now is a $600 paperweight.

Did Sony harm you as a child?

Most games are available on all systems. You have certain system specific titles, but I don't know of any serious gamer that doesn't have graphics near the top of their list when they are considering a console. Gameplay (which the Wii fans are happy with on their system) is up there as well. What GREAT games are available on the Wii right now? Zelda seems to be the only major Wii only title out right now. But the PS3 has Resistance, which is one of the best games on the market right now. Sure it might be the only GREAT system specific title for the PS3, but as I said before it's a fantastic game.

Also if you trust Time Magazine as the end all source to predict how a video game system war will end up in 4 years, I think you might be a tad gullible. There was an analyst predicting that the PS3 will win out this generation as well. http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=12250. I'm not saying that this is going to be 100% accurate either, but you can't take one report as the gospel truth.

I really hope that none of your friends buy a PS3, otherwise I fear they may lose a friend from their decision ;)
