Verizon stated that it is only affecting users calling into ATT and Firstnet (ATT) customers. It's also reportedly Verizon and TMobile and is nationwide.
Yes, but…At least there is Wi-Fi at the parks - that should help.
Ohhhhhhhh. Then I can’t even imagine what a disaster it is.
The guest Wi-Fi does not use AT&T. It is land-based and uses Smart City Telecom.
However, as finicky as WDW's WiFi is under even moderate strain, a dramatic increase in devices connecting to get around the loss of cellular service could cause serious delays or interruptions. The guest Wi-Fi does not use AT&T. It is land-based and uses Smart City Telecom.
AT&T has a network of mini towers within WDW to boost their cellular signal, but the Wi-Fi is independent.
WiFi doesn't connect to any cellular towers. They are connected directly to the parks infrastructure/network to allow guests & cast members to gain access to the internet.

Agreed, it isn't *just* a disney problem, but a destination that is almost entirely app-based is screwed in these types of situations. It wasn't a Disney problem. It was a nationwide problem. It raises all sorts of questions outside the scope of this forum.
Since this outage started in the early morning hours, it stands to reason that plenty of guests on AT&T wanted to get into the Guardians or TRON VQ and couldn't. That alone is a major guest dissatisfier, and of course, only scratches the surface of guest impacts.Agreed, it isn't *just* a disney problem, but a destination that is almost entirely app-based is screwed in these types of situations.
Do you have Wi-Fi calling on? That might help. Otherwise you could try getting a Google Voice number and sending that to your interviewer, and try taking the call on your computer or mobile phone on WiFi and with the app.Glad I have a mobile phone interview in 45 minutes as an AT&T customer...
