Why Snow White?!

The coaster will be amazing, a new technology designed by disney.

It's already been play tested out in glendale!!!

Actually the patents to this new coaster have been around for a while. If you do a bit of research you can find these patents they had developed a while back and are now brushing the dust off of to incorporate into this new attraction.

I'm pretty certain that the old Snow White attraction will close and something new will go in it's place...but until the fantasyland expansion is complete it will probably house meet n greets and the like.

Once the expansion is done, then WDI will start turning it into an attraction and or show. I know Imagineers have already been toying around with concepts. I mean this mine coaster had been in the works for a while and the imagineers who had first came up with the attraction had a game plan on what the old snow white dark ride would turn into....then the coaster got axed, then it got resurrected. So yeah all in good time. . . all i know is the WDI is approaching this revamp of the expansion really well. All for us fans!

I think more Snow White in Fantasyland is just great. Snow White itself is perhaps the most important and influential animated film ever, and pretty much started the whole ball rolling...all the way to WDW itself.

Personally I'm much more in favor of WDW's paying homage to historical animation (SW, Bambi, Pinocchio, Fantasia) than new stuff (Stitch). The classic stuff is more deserving.

Ride-wise, this'll be a fun and hopefully thrilling experience, and the dwarfs' mine is a great theme with basically unlimited potential. I'm so looking forward.

I agree with poster above, more attention should be paid to the classics :brick: . Also, if people don't know who Bambi or Mr. Toad are  , Disney should be airing these original cartoons :hammer: (especially Icabod crane "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" cartoon at Halloween time on it's channel and in the movie theater on Main St. USA. That cartoon with Mr. Toad is a classic, since it is narrated and songs sung by Bing Crosby:king:.

Because Snow White is Walt's first, looked at as one of the greatest movies ever made, and has withstood the test of time being over 70 years old and still a household name.

It's one of my favorite Disney films and it deserves way more than any other movie Disney has ever made in my opinion.
Well said and I couldn't agree more.

What the best option would be in my opinion, aside from keeping SWSA, would be a compromise.

Maybe we start off in the cabin with Snow White, then follow the dwarves into the mine, and then return for the grand finale when she gets rescued? It'd be like a moving storybook, kinda like Splash Mountain, and it would integrate all the characters and both the indoor/outdoor concept. Also, it would include the dwarves and you could add "Heigh-Ho" in the mine, etc.

It'd be a nice compromise, and it would help keep the focus on both Snow White and the Dwarves, while at the same time being a new dark ride/coaster for people to be excited about.

If Nemo (and I'm not knockin' the little guy, but still) can have a whole Epcot pavilion, with multiple attractions, and a stage show in another park, I think I can allow "the fairest of them all" a mine train without complaint, especially if she's going to lose her dark ride.

Although I am really excited for the mine car ride I will miss SWSA. Even as 40 year old adults my husband and I always ride it, and place bets on which character of car we will get. For me the ride has such a warm nostalgic feeling that reminds me of my childhood but I can see how out of date it is, much like Mr. Toad was. Let's hope the new ride still has the nostalgic feel.

I agree. It, and Pinocchio, ought to have better representation in the parks, especially in WDW. The Dwarfs Mine Train ride idea is fantastic. It should appeal to both genders, which makes it irresistible to the current Disney mindset, I should think.

At least, if not much longer than that even. Once they go in there and gut the building and rip the tracks out of the floor, its going to be a longggg time before they use that space for a ride again. They could save money by leaving the current track in place and doing a new ride around it. Instead of all this meet n greet stuff. Oh well.

Lee said that they are leaving the track and just building a platform for the M&Gs.

SWSA is my #1 favorite Disney ride (though I greatly prefer Disneyland's version). When I first heard of it turning into a meet and greet I just about crapped bricks.

However, IF DONE PROPERLY, this new ride could be an excellent replacement. That means we need to have the scary witch around a lot, and modern effects, but still a great Snow White dark ride.

It will remain to be seen until it's actually built, but *IF* they manage to make the dark ride portion at least as awesome as the original dark ride, I'll be OK.

I'm reserving my judgment on this one until it happens, but I am hoping for the best.

Guess what... All those negative fans will say how someones thread stinks? Now a more positive fan will say this thread stinks!

You really would rather see a Hunchback ride over snow white? Snow White is Walts first. It's an absolute CLASSIC. And it's extremely popular. Nevermind snow white just for now, but you ever see kids or especially Adults get so excited when they see the 7 Dwarves for Meet n Greets? Yes, SWSA is a classic ride, but this ride would seem to blow SWSA out of the water, especially with the technology they have now. Theres only a couple movies I could think of that "maybe" you could use instead. Sleeping Beauty (the ride would feature Maleficent mostly), Pinnochio, or maybe Lion King or Jungle Book. Now, Lion King or Jungle Book would fit more in Adventureland or Animal Kingdom.

But Snow White is easily the best and most popular choice.

True and she has to be represented somehow in Fantasyland (the last thing we want is a hong kong disneyand style fantasyland), so even if were losing a classic, at least we are still getting an attraction with a snow white theme. Were still out one ride though no matter how one looks at it, but I guess in the future, (farrrr future), snow white adventures building will get a new darkride.
