Why no water in Epcot?

I was there the first week of October and there was water in there for sure. Must have been just after the 6th or 7th or so.

So, I'm assuming that they were drained to be cleaned. Letting them dry out is probably needed to kill all of the unwanted organisms without requiring an overwelming chlorine odor.

Has the moat at the castle in MK ever been drained? Does anyone know? When we were there in June, the water was a nasty-looking pea-green color.

That color is actually added to to the "moat", Jungle Cruse and Rivers of America. Makes it harder to judge how deep the water is (the answer is never more than three feet).

Actually I have seen them drain the moat, back when they turned the castle into a cake they drained the moat. They have also drained the Rivers of America a few times, pictures of this can be seen on the internet.

When we were there on October 30th, we were riding upfront in the monorail and asked the pilot about it. He said they were drained for annual cleaning and maintenance.

Empty Ponds

Aren't there fish in these ponds also? It would seem to me that if people have seen them drained before it's to clean it out for the fish, for the money, for the garbage, etc. That would make sense. We're going in three weeks and I hope the stink is gone!!!!!! LOL

Based on info on another thread........we are not supposed to talk to the monorail drivers because it can be very distracting and they have allot on their mind when making sure that they dont hit the monorail in front of them.....just thought I would let you know. (I hope that allot of sarcasm is evident in this post....)

I don't believe there are fish in the ponds that were drained. At least, I've never seen any fish in these pools.

No, the fish were removed due to budget cuts.... :lookaroun :lookaroun :D

I have to agree with the collecting change theory. I mean, with Eisner wasting all this money on bad projects and unused land (cough*20,000 leagues*cough), Disney needs all of the money that they can get.

well.. I was there today, and they have water once more. Most are barely 1/3 full though, so I guess they're filling them right now

I was hoping they'd have water in them by next week.

Hey, my inlaws and brother in law are going to be there next week. Would you smack em if you see them. Thanks :lookaroun :lookaroun
